more of a brush stroke loose form bird---a little artsy, thus i think more upscale than the other bird I used. typestyle also slightly different. If there are any variations you would like me to try or additions please let me know. thanks.
again, treatment is more artsy, coloring in bird gives it almost a block print or screen print effect. Changed lettering, Again, "roosting" found it's home. Again, please ask if any variations or additions wanted. thanks again. Carla
We definitely prefer the "artsy" style bird more than the one in #88, and very much like your thinking about "nesting". That's thoughtful and smart, but I'm not sure it carries the design enough to have an impact. I like #95 the best, but am concerned that the bird might not be recognizable enough to catch the eye on a yard sign or to build a character off of. I do like it, but....I'm just not sure its quite the right one.
Maybe try a different font color so that the bird stands out a bit more? Maybe red and black, or just black with some other red element incorporated into the design? Or just red?
Also, I think I prefer the bird on the "r" rather than the "n" but it may change when the font color changes.
What if the bird is a bit less artsy. Maybe add an eye? Or a bit more shading?
one more, using the w in the wen as part of a nest. I appreciate the input. I know you pretty much have yourself set on that design in first already, but thought i would toss one more wordmark into the fray. Thanks for considering me. If you do have anything else you'd like me to try, i am definitely willling though. Carla
same bird (nesting) put into circle logo, almost forgot to send this one. Again, if this is an idea you would like to see developed, would be happy to do so.
Thank you so much for rearranging this. I think it's fair to say at this point that it won't be one of our top three, but I appreciate your effort! I will still rank it. Thanks again!
window shape in background represents a home that someone is looking out their window at the bird building his home---everybody needs to nest after all.
again slight change to dimensions of bird so it will sit on a horizontal form of basically the same logo. Again, the bird would be easy to reproduce as a stuffed toy, since it is basically 2 s shapes (body and wing) and a modified rectangle (tail), so considering it would have two wings, it would basically be 4 pieces and an eye, and since the forms are simple there wouldn't be a lot of finessing necessary.
i guess I meant 4 pattern pieces (of course whomever ended up making these would need to double each piece for stuffing) though if you did a wooden piece it would just be 3 plus the eye. Sorry, for rambling and stating the obvious.
am thinking that the latest bird because of it's simplicity and character look would PROBABLY be easy to animate in Flash or similar program as well. (Bird that is feature in examples #290 (and above) Also, wanted to note that the bird that sits in the R has the tail based behind the R--so it looks like the bird is sitting in the open part of the r,main part of body in front and tail behind) I state this because I can't tell how easy it is to tell in these small formats--if you look closely you should be able to and I don't know if the contest holder is able to see a larger version than shows on the contest page or not.
sorry, i accidentally did a withdraw all at one point. I had appreciated your comments, but it didn't look like i was going to place in any significant way and was looking at not being able to spend anymore time on the pieces. Found myself wandering back to the site anyway and the time commitment changed, so I offered a new idea that came to me and put back the two or three you seemed most interested in before. I hope you have looked at the new style bird i put in and hints of how it could be used, but I understand if you feel frustrated with me. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. Carla
