Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ You, the Client, are very important! Your active participation is the single greatest factor influencing this contest. Active participation by you, the Client, helps you get the logo design you want!
~~ What's active participation? It's updating the brief with more information for Designers to work with as the contest progresses, providing feedback to Designers on their entries when they're submitted, and ranking designs at least once a day.
~~ When you provide feedback to Designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Rank designs at least once each day -- this will encourage Designers to submit more entries!
~~ Ranking prevents your contest from going idle! Active contests attract more Designers.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed. Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Please note: if you're asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract Designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked Designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" Designers are the first 5 Designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The Designer of the 1st place design will be the only Designer who can submit revisions at that time.

Thank you for the first submission! We are looking forward to seeing a diverse submission of logos! Love the contemporary look & feel of this logo.

We'd like to see design ideas using 'Waters Edge' as more of the primary focus of the logo. Similar to Yahoo & Google.

I like the block lettering in the first logo better. Maybe even two different fonts for Waters and Edge?

We don't want the logo in a circle shape. Perhaps more free-flowing/shape-less. More emphasis on the name than the pic. Really like the water & grass coming together though!!!

How about the pic being more of a rectangle above the name rather than a circle.

We like #6 since the pic is more 'borderless'.

A few thoughts.....

* Can we see different variations of cursive as well as block lettering?
* Would like to see the incorporation of a few 'catails' (edge of water foliage) into the pic?
* How about a golf tee used to cross the letter T in 'Waters'? Or the W filling up with a ripple of water?

A few more ideas......

How about putting 'Waters' in the middle of the pic and then 'Edge' slightly lower in the pic while playing with differnt variations of contour of the pic. I'm picture a downward slope from left to right. Foreground is green (grass) and background is blue (water) and the name is literally on the edge.

We would love to see more logos where the name is in the same font as Submission #10 and Submission #5. And we really like where the font of the word 'Edge' in Submission #5 is thinner/less bold than 'Waters'. We like the idea of DROPPING the words golf and club from the name altogether, so we'd love to see more logos without golf and/or club in the logo. We also really like the color shades and pic in Submission #10.

Please try to submit more colors in the blue, green, grey scheme.

We are really liking the sophistication of the cursive font in #30, #24, #2. Would still love to see designers play with other shades of blue, green, and grey.

Would still like to see Waters and Edge staggered a bit with Edge being lower than Waters. Also, any way to make Edge look like a reflection on the water?

Good Morning Designers,

We have re-opened the tournament for 24 hours in hopes that we can get a final logo for Waters Edge.

We have narrowed our favorite logos and designers to 4 as we don't even want to waste a 5th designer's time.

Here is what we're thinking.....

1. Bold colors (navy blue, dark green, grass green, etc)
2. We would like the customer to be more focused on the name of the course and not the graphic. So basically, the design/artwork should be part of the name, not in a logo graphic. (For example, #93 is really starting to stand out to us for that very reason.
3. We are also looking for a designer to be able to offer at least 1 additional manipulation (small) of the logo once we establish Waters Edge Golf Club, and that will be for 'The Pub at Waters Edge'. We'll basically just be looking for a designer to take the winning logo and drop 'golf club' and add' the pub' using the same design, script, font, etc. And we are willing to pay for that.
