What We Do
A friendly neighborhood ice cream shop with simply divine ice cream, decadent desserts and sweet staff!
Industry
Restaurant
Color Preferences
Vivid salmon pink (should be one of the primary colors), dark chocolate brown, purple and silver
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We'd like to make Wally, our beloved dog, the "mascot" for the shop. We envision just his face licking a cone/dish within the logo. Wally's coloring is unique:dark brown head, silver body and highlights on his nose. We had an illustrator sketch his face as a first step. Also attached are two shots of his face. If you'd like to see a full shot of him, let us know. He's a very friendly, social dog that loves his ice cream!

We are not wedded to a circular logo, and are open to different approaches. Although Wally is the mascot, the term "wicked good' holds the same or more importance in terms of placement and prominence.

Could you post some images of Wally for us?

We like the expression of Wally in both #1 & #2---especially how he's looking while licking the ice cream! The words "Wicked Good" stand out better in the #1--these are as important and we'd like them to be a little more prominent within the design. Also, can the salmon color be a deeper pink/salmon and more prominent in the design somehow--either the lettering or perhaps a background of some sort? The brown of Wally is a little too light--he's really more of a chocolate brown (like hot fudge). Finally, although I like the splash of color of the cherry on top of the cone---we never really put cherries on cones, so we'd like to remove it.

A creative approach, thanks so much--hope this feedback is helpful.

These designs are terrific, and have given us a lot to think about in terms of what really captures the friendly and funky vibe we're striving toward. Note to all: although most ice cream shops are like diners or ice cream parlours--ours is more of a cafe/coffee house atmosphere. Thanks for your submissions and keep those ideas coming!!

What a great experience working with so many talented designers. The quality of the submissions has made this both exciting and difficult to decide! Quick question for all: we have received some feedback that using the dog as a mascot makes it seem like it could be an ice cream company for dogs. What are your professional opinions? A few even went so far as to say that we should include a child as well. Any thoughts?

In my opinion, I don't associate the dog mascot as being an ice cream company for dogs,
as long as the dog graphic is not the predominant part of the logo.
I realize that some people might think that, but I think the majority would realize that it's
just a logo mascot. I would think the name would have to include text which specifies
that it was for dogs ( if it was )
Hope this helps.
