Updated our contest brief. What we do: Vaasnet provides a choice of virtualized computers (virtual machines) on demand and stored and managed in the Internet cloud.
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:
~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage more participation. ~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered. ~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see. ~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested" ~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation. ~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work. ~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.
We're still trying to figure out what we like, so don't hold back on any new ideas. We're very impressed with what we're seeing so far. So hard to know what order to list the logos in. (trying to keep only 1 of each type at the top, and dropping same logos with different colors to the bottom)
As we are reviewing the logos we have realized that we do not want to have a distinct separation between Vaas and net. In print we are going to use "Vaasnet" so a logo with "VaasNet" will not match. This includes using two different colors in the name Vaasnet. We are leaning toward one uniform look and feel for the entire word Vaasnet.
We just discussed the various elements with a few of us and have some feedback that should help.
For the colors, we really like the orange, blue and green in the Pando logos: http://www.pando.com/. We're going with a bit more of a friendly look than we were thinking previously.
For uppercase / lowercase, we like lowercase better now.
We've learned over the last week that we prefer a symbol that says 'something' about us. V or VN are two key hints about us, although they are difficult to make look nice. Cloud or computers or technology are the key concepts of our business. We understand that a cloud is also difficult to make look good.
What we like about the current first place entry is that it looks like a V in the cloud.
We like where all of the recent logos are going with the colors in the font.
Thanks everyone for such a great experience! We were very impressed with the whole process and the high quality of logos presented. It became hard to know how to rank them and choose the winner with so many good choices.
