The River CourseLogo Design Contest

A couple of reminders...
- Don't need the words "Kiawah Island, South Carolina." Just words "The River Course." All caps, all lower case, upper and lower case -- whatever works best for your design.
- Remember this will be embroidered in some cases; too much detail may not work.

In respect for your talent and effort, I promise you the following:
> I will rank daily, often multiple times a day
> I will regularly provide individual feedback
> I will rank as many entries as possible in the end to award points
> I will respond to questions as promptly and thoroughly as possible
> I will post certain comments on this page to benefit all designers
> I will never ask you to copy existing work or 'borrow' elements from another logo or designer
> I will alert a designer if they enter a logo I think is too similar to another logo to help keep logo court cases from occurring
I have had great experiences on here in the past and expect this contest to be just as fun and productive.

GENERAL NOTE: This is an exclusive, sophisticated golf course. Visual representations of a rolling landscape, water, perhaps an abstract flag, are all good. However, images that are too literal (such as a golf ball), whimsical typography, and bright colors won't work.

I'm interested to see what you can do with the letter 'V' in RIVER.
Perhaps there is a way to treat it graphically to make an interesting word mark.

I'm opening up the concept of modifying the 'V' so everyone is free to explore.
What will make it distinct is what you do with the 'V' different than other designers.
Make sense?

designers into the top 5 to refine their logos.
