One idea we wanted to explore was going with an "old" or "traditional" kind of look, since "craftsmen" is an old-school concept, and because we will be located and serving historic areas.
A font that we considered using as a corporate font is called "Caslon Antique". Could this font or a similar font be integrated into some ideas?
One thought for you to consider is that we will primarily be placing this logo on a white background. White shirts, white vehicles, and and white paper. So we want colors that provide good contrast. Thank you!
In terms of color selection, we are considering going with a more "historical" color palette. In other words, more towards the muted, traditional colors rather than bright / rainbow colors. One example of a large selection of historical colors that we like can be found here, and includes just about every base color as an option.
We are thinking that the possible type of icon we might like with this would be a simple type of house (we have another business with an icon of a house, so this might tie in). Some kind of brush stroke is a possibility, but we want to keep it simple.
Would like to possibly see more "word mark" designs that reflect the contest attachment. We still do like the idea of incorporating a very simple type of house design, but would want it to be secondary to the text. Thanks!
On that last note, the house design doesn't necessarily have to be a roof-line type of design. An architectural element such as a door, or door frame that is partially shaded in color might be a nice touch.
Our initial concept did show a burgundy/maroon color scheme. Some other colors from the link above that we are interested in are "rocky hill," "picholine," "whispering hollow," "georgian yellow," and "pumpkin." Thanks!
