It is very easy (and very cliche) to use the colors red, white, and blue for anything even remotely associated with American politics. While these colors can certainly be used, be careful. A decent logo and logo text can quickly become VERY amateur looking with the lazy use of these colors.

Absolutely positive we do not want to see anything related to the Statue of Liberty or the Liberty Bell.

We greatly appreciate your interest in the contest.

Please read the contest brief carefully. There are very subtle, but very important distinctions in the American political arena. Just as importantly, this new brand IS NOT just about politics. We are not interested in campaign clipart and stale variations of the American flag.

We are looking for a highly professional design that carefully considers ALL THREE elements outlined in the contest brief and appeals to our client base.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. We are available to clarify and elaborate on our work and our clients.

Just a general comment... NO BONGS (http://img.alibaba.com/photo/12194796/Plain_Glass_Water_Pipes_Bongs_.jpg). We want to be careful not to pick something that looks even vaguely like a bong (or a phallic symbol).

We like the concept of beakers and test tubes (but certainly aren't committed to the concept). Other words and concepts that may be helpful... "minds" and "thinking" and "networking" and "atoms" and "connectivity" and "media" and "broadcast" and "community"

OVERALL NOTE: The logos need to be LESS about the policy and political stuff our clients are involved in and and MORE about the strategy, development, and communications stuff we are involved in. Visually, the political stuff should be very subtle. We already use the word "Liberty" in our name which signals to our client base the type of focus we have.

UPDATED CONTEST BRIEF HAS BEEN CREATED.

We have decided to extend the deadline on this contest. We are hoping the extension give us the opportunity to draw from a much greater variety and help us develop better feedback for those who have already submitted work.

General observations...

We need to take this contest to the next level. There have been some good ideas, but we are really hoping the designer community is able to step up with some really great designs.

Why the emphasis on a biology or chemistry "lab"? We are surprised there hasn't been more of an emphasis of the computer / new media / social media / online development aspect of our contest brief.

Please ask questions. We are here to help if you need clarification or guidance.

We want to thank all of the participants of this contest. While I have my own personal preferences, I will be looking to my partners and colleagues to help make a final decision; a decision which I hope will serve as a springboard for the development of a new brand.

Clearly, there are some talented designers among you. We were even impressed by several designers whose designs may have not struck the right tone for this project, but are very talented nonetheless.

This is a highly subjective process. We will carefully review the submissions and move the rankings around from time to time. A final decision will be made as quickly as possible.

Thanks again for your efforts!
