David 1 2 3 1 ... 3 Next > Discussion astorch Client There are a few good ideas so far. I'd like to see some more. Maybe a black logo on a white background or a red logo on a white background. I'm thinking something like the US Coast Guard emblem on their ships...a diagonal white strip with the logo in the middle. 6 years ago astorch Client Other ideas for logos could include the use of a ship propeller, stars of a constellation like The Big Dipper, Compass Rose, light house, or other nautical themed image. 6 years ago astorch Client Absolutely awesome ideas submitted so far and I'm starting to form a better idea of how this logo should look. The nautical themed graphic should incorporate the SMTA initials then the words Storch Marine Towing & Assistance should be to the left of the graphic. With all of the great ideas presented so far I'm still undecided upon what the graphic should look like. There has been a great balance between simple and more complex. The logo will go on business cards, internet site, etc but the primary and probably most important will be as a large vinyl adhesive type logo on the side of the boat. The boat is 25 feet long. So, this logo will be about 3 feet tall and could be as long as 10 or 12 feet. The hull of the boat is red. 6 years ago astorch Client Here are some general comments from the surveys so far: Don't use the initials SMTA. I am ok with not using SMTA. Personally, I like the anchor as a symbol. I think is has lots of meaning. Others responding to the surveys disagree. Their comment is "you are not in the anchor business". 6 years ago astorch Client Other possible nautical themed symbols could include: a trident, a nautilus, a fish/shark, tugboat, sea shell, etc. 6 years ago astorch Client I think I've narrowed it down to the final 12 options. I don't know what advise to give. All artwork has been really great. I'm convinced that the logo needs to be long and narrow. Obviously it needs to be on a red background. I like an anchor symbol but the surveys I've conducted don't think the anchor is the right symbol. A broad stripe looked good originally but I have eliminated that because both of the big competitors in this business use stripes. This logo needs to be unique and different. Although I am a naval officer and appreciate the US Coast Guard, I also think that since both those services use anchors that it is not right for my logo. I really like the way that some of the artists have incorporated a nautical symbol into the letters of my name. I will be reviewing these until the very last minute of this tournament if you have any more ideas. Thanks again. I truly appreciate your hard work and talents. 6 years ago
