also both last entries have the large white strip . i have left the thin blue ones for a separation, to break a bit the overall look, but if you wish those can be easily removed.

Let's try one more thing. Make one wide white stripe. Place a simple nautical symbol in the middle. It can be an anchor, compass rose, ships wheel, boat profile, lighthouse, etc.

I really like having a nautical themed symbol but I think I like the simple one with stripes only. Unless you can add a more simple rendition of an anchor?

Might even be able to keep the anchor and the size of the red stripe but make the anchor fit into the red stripe only...not extending into the white.

Another idea is to shrink the anchor to make it a little less dominant.

Just need a sec.

This may be the one but I would like to see another option. Can you delete the anchor and make the white stripes more prominent such that they are of equal width to the center red stripe?

I like it but would like to see the stripe go the other direction slanted from left to right.

Probably the writing might have to be a different color ... a bit more contrasting : white or light gray .

of course, if you want the logo to have same inclination on the both sides it will have to have the stripes slanted differently and i am not sure how the anchor will take place in the middle - one side will be a bit off ...

Okay : let me please answer all of the concerns . First ...i'll place the logo on a red background so you can see the red stripe has a fine white offset around it .
I'll help you with the font after the contest is complete (not allowed to do it in an ongoing contest) .
The stripe direction if i understand correctly : the logo would have 2 sides mirrored . starboard/port side .
No problem, can be easily worked. one of them will have the the text on the right of the graphics the other one on the left, no changes on the graphics is necessary .
And i'll prepare a version of the logo with no SMTA .
Hope this clears the things a bit :)

I think we should eliminate the SMTA off of this logo too in order to simplify some more.

I'm also wondering if the stripe should have the opposite angle or direction? So, on the port side of the boat the stripe will go from left to right going top to bottom. Then on the starboard side of the boat the stripe will do the opposite. Like the italics in Storch, I think this gives a look of forward motion.

I like this one a lot. The only problem I can see with it is that the red stripe will disappear on the side of a red boat. Unless, there is full color white on either side of it. I like the italics look of the lettering in Storch. Is this a common Microsoft Word font because I will have to be able to duplicate it in all of my other marketing information every time I write the word Storch.

#35 and #36 2 new takes on the anchor.
Left everything else unchanged.

i can try separating the initials as SM and TA on the sides of the anchor .
I believe it would work. please allow me to work it and upload as fast as i can.

I also like the long logo which will cover the side of the boat. If you could simplify the anchor and incorporate the SMTA initials that would be good to see as well.

I'll be commenting for both logos.
The drawing is like the ones you see on dollar bills...the presidents. Old time engraving style.
i can rework them like you suggested, lines only .
The final file delivered here will be a vector file not a picture, which could be easily enlarged without loss at a size of a building :)

I think I like the diagonal stripes better than the vertical. Same comment as before on the anchor.

Nice idea. The light house is a good symbol of safety. Much like the anchor it might need to be more of a line drawing. This logo will be made into a large decal that is placed on the side of the boat. It will probably be about 3 feet tall and 4 or 5 feet wide.

I like this. Simple but strong. I think the anchor needs to be more of a line drawing with no shadow or color gradient.
