Merrill Smiles DentalLogo Design Contest

Merrill Smiles Dental is a dental office located in Merrill, Wisconsin. It is a general family dentist providing comprehensive care to all ages. The office serves a city and surrounding community of about 10,000 people in a rural and agricultural part of the state. The dental office serves mostly middle- and working-class patients. It has existed under a different name for many years in the community, so this is a rebrand.

We want the colors to be primarily blues and greys (or silver). We're envisioning royal blue with accent(s) of lighter sky blue or darker navy blue. Grey or silver should be used as another accent color in the logo.

We could potentially utilize other accent colors of green, yellow, or orange. Please DO NOT USE RED in the logo design.

We want a logo that feels fresh, welcoming, and slightly upscale. We want to be more abstract than concrete with any logo elements. The name Merrill Smiles Dental should be clearly legible, with "Merrill Smiles" larger in font than the word "Dental." In fact, "Dental" should be 50% or less than the size of the font used for "Merrill Smiles." Merrill is a community surrounded by farmland and forests, so the logo can have abstract natural elements. Their town mascot is the bluejay, and our color palette should follow that. We want the name of the office and any abstract logo element(s) to be fairly well integrated -- we don't want the logo to feel like its text and visual are completely distinct from one another. IMPORTANT NOTE: Images of smiles are welcomed for the logo, but please DO NOT USE INDIVIDUAL TEETH SHAPES. We will be rejecting those outright.
