Logo Design Brief

Handmade, harmonic excellence
What We Do
High-end, handmade, individually voiced acoustic guitars for the discerning musician that requires a totally bespoke and unique instrument.

Miscellaneous
Color Preferences
No green please. Organic, earthy colors that evoke the natural, wholesome approach I employ for my work (I love natural cream colors and deep orange, sunset hues). Consider that my web page will be made mostly of professional photos of my guitars on a black background, so ideally the logo has to stand out on a dark background.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I would like a stylized logo that includes my name (Iacopo Nesi Guitars or I. N. Guitars or any other suggestion) and something that evokes the guitar. The latter can be a guitar itself or part of a guitar. I would like a retro feeling inspired by art deco, maybe the font. The logo has to be recognizable and easy to include in all types of media i.e web, print and so on, especially for the guitar label that one finds inside the guitar. Also, all the graphics for my web page will derive from the theme/style of this logo.
One last description of what I do is the following: "I strive to give the trees used for the wood in the making of my guitars, a second, musical life". IMPORTANT: These are general guidelines that should "guide" the designers but not restrict them.

Hello designers, I apologize for not having been active in commenting and ranking. I have had time to think over all your entries and I thank you for submitting them. I have realized that what I want to see is a designs that works as a standalone and that doesn't incorporate my name. A good example of this are #96, #97, #98, #73, #78. This type of approach makes the logo an identifiable and usable element in all my media and as an inlay on the headstock of my guitars. This revised approach is reflected in the new ranking.
I still think that there are many exceptional designs that can be modified to achieve the brief's goal.
Thank you very much for all your continuing effort, please keep it up until the end of this contest.
Good luck to all of you,
IN.

Hello designers,
Once again thanks for your entries. To give everyone a chance to re-work and create in the new direction I mentioned in the previous message, I have extended the contest a further 5 days. I would be delighted to see more designs as diverse and as interesting as the ones so far. To be clear once more the new direction is to create a logo where there are 2 separate elements: 1. My name (Iacopo Nesi Guitars), and 2. A standalone mark/symbol/drawing that incorporates the message as per brief. So far #98 is the one design that best captures this concept.
Thank you,
IN.

Hello,
I feel must apologize to the LT Community. Not for the fact that my contest has sparked a dispute, but for not realizing this myself and not acting accordingly, please accept my apologies.
I guess this is inevitable sometimes as the LT environment replicates the practices found in the open market. Fortunately, LT works so well because the same professionals that make the community also monitor it. Once again, I am extremely sorry to see this happening, but at the same time I feel honored that my contest has attracted so much refined talent. You make it very difficult to choose, and for this...
...Thank you all very much!

Dear Designers,
I find it very difficult to make a decision on a normal occasion, in this contest finale I was constantly changing my mind, you all made it so with your exuberant talent. In the end I choose the one design that captured best all the ideas I wanted for my logo and that were outlined in the brief. It has been good fun with a bit of drama as well. I am a very happy and proud customer and I deeply respect all of the LT community. LT is a vibrant, instant-pleasure, and wonderful thing.... and it works! Please keep it that way. To this end, I would like to add that if bad feelings arose amongst designers on account of my contest, I wish you would bury the hatchet and make up. I may sound corny in saying the latter, but I truly mean it.
With this my contest is really over... and out!

Best wishes for all your future endeavors to all the participants.
Thank you all.
