Color Preferences
I'd like to see: Green, Blue, White, some grey (shadows?), and/or maybe silver and/or gold.

The logo design concepts are quite open. I'd like to see some creativity, something unique, eye-catching, and appealing to everybody!
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Maybe a gear or a building or bridge (symbolizing the engineering background), possibly a stock chart (with value going up), and / or maybe dollars somewhere. Also, maybe a machine that's printing money... could be a couple of ideas. But, I'd like to see what the artist's come up with, in their creativity!

To design #1 by glendon - thanks for your submission! It looks like you followed my ideas very closely, but maybe too closely. Your page shows some excellent designs, and yet this one seems a bit plain.

To improve on this one, it might look better to do a 3D gear, and a smaller (or different) $ sign, so that the tips of it don't disappear as they do here.

It might be worth a try to revise and improve on this one, but I'd like to see some complete creativity. I'm better at appreciating and evaluating art, than I am at directing the creation of it! ;-)

You're the expert!

To design #2 by him555 - thanks for your design!

It also looks like you followed my ideas closely, probably a bit too closely. I purposefully used the word "maybe" in my idea section, as I don't want all of the submissions to follow all, or even any of the ideas that are in there.

From the name of the company, and what it does - what comes to your mind? What would make you think of these things, in a positive way, when you see the logo... and create that logo!

You can use different colors, shapes, etc. I'm VERY open to completely out-of-the box ideas and creations!

Oh, one preference I have is to use a sans-serif font. It's my personaly preference, and that's one I might be more partial to. When I see a serif font, it makes me think of old people, and it seems more "classic", and less "modern".

* General comment: maybe try some shading, gradients, and/or 3D something.

To me, that seems more modern, more eye-catching, and more impressive... to me, anyway. Are other people like that too? Ultimately, it's more important that it's impressive to others, more than myself.

To #3 & #4 by kromosom - thanks for your designs!

The artistic, flowy bridge effect is nice. And, I do prefer #4, because of the font.

These designs, to me, show a more feminine take on it. I like the different angle you've taken.

However, I think I'd like to see some more color, and/or gradient, and/or shading, or something.

Also, these logos difinitely make me think engineering, but not necessarily "wealth". And, that's the more important part, the wealth and investing part.

Similar comments to those of design #1. Please refer to those.

And, it's not clear whether the three rectangles in the middle are buildings or an artictic 'bar chart'. It they're buildings, then maybe try adding some more detail, somehow, or changing them a bit.

If they're bar charts, that isn't really relevant to the type of charts people use in the world of investments. If you want some real-life examples, check out yahoo finance or google finance.

To #7 by FuturisticLOGO - thanks for your design!

Nice use of 3D, gradients, etc. Thanks for thinking about the affect the design has on people who look at it. The affect I get when I look definitely makes me think of the money, and it looks like it's being driven, or created by the moving gears. I really like the concept. It's quite effective at creating the impact I'm looking for.

It's also great that your use of the word "Wealth" is in a larger font than "Engineered". This is also very effective, eye-catching, and emphasises the right part - the wealth / money growth part. The only thing is that I'd like to see a sans-serif font insead of the one you used... just out of curiosity... although the serif's are quite small in the font you used, so it's not that bad...

I really like your creativity, and thinking. I also like how you've used more color than most.

What else can you do? Can you modify this a few different ways, and also come up with some completely different ideas? I'd be excited to see what you can do!

To #8 by FernandoBrandManager - thanks for your design!

The 3D gears are interesting, and the mirrored effect under the letters are cool.

It's tough to tell what is on top of the gears, and what they're doing. It feels too much like engineering, and not much like making money... Please revise this, and/or try something brand new, that emphasises the wealth part of the business - as that's really all the business is about!

To #9 & #10 by nalapraja - thanks for your design!

Very cool design! Thank you for being unique, modern, creative, and awesome! I'm very impressed! Your ideas are something I hadn't thought of, nor had anyone else, and it's great!

I love the gradients, 3D, lighting, shading, color, etc. Could you use more colors... maybe it wouldn't work, but it might be worth playing around a bit.

How about making the truss a bit more 3D? And, can you make the top and bottom of the $ sign come in front of the truss, and put the middle behind it? (So, the opposite of how they are now...) This might feel like it emphasizes the $ more than the engineering part. Is there anything else you can do to emphasize wealth?

In general, it looks very cool. I'm really impressed by the level of completeness you put into this. And, I like the super-modern, contemporary, and almost sci-fi look of the $ sign.

What else can you do?

To #11 & #12 by nalapraja - thanks for your design!

This is another great design. I really like the gradients, lighting, 3D, etc of this one too.

I also like how the gear has been broken, and twisted into a $ sign. Really out-of-the box thinking! It's great! That's a perfect artistic statement about where I've come from (engineering), and where I am now (investing). Very smart design concept!

To me, the gear (although it's warped) is still a bit too strong of an engineering reference here. How can you make look & feel more like wealth?

To #13 by ordmode - thanks for your design!

I like your use of the 3D shapes (like bar charts, almost) and how they suptly form both a capital E, and a capital W - the initials of the business name! Great idea! (Although, as I've commented here for others, the bar charts aren't really used by investors... wrong type of chart for this.)

Your idea is unique here! Great! I really appreciate that! The idea to make a symbol and use it for both the E and W is really cool. Some company logos are done like that, and it totally works.

Can you tweak this a bit, and see what else you can come up with? Can you emphasise the wealth part more?

To #14 by xivi - thanks for your design!

That's the right type of chart to use - the one that makes the W in the green gear! Thank you for that!

Interesting concept, to use the letters in the gears like that. It's quite effective the way you did that W. Great idea!

Although it's got some good elements in it, to me it still has too much 'engineering' in it, and not enough 'wealth', for the feeling I get from it. Both the logo and the name (words) do this, to me.

Can you revise it to emphasize the wealth part more, and / or come up with more designs, that are completely different? I'm looking forward to it!

To #15 by xivi - thanks for your design!

This is another creative use of the e and w... I think. It might work better if they're on an angle, or something, though.

But, I do like the 3D effect. It really jumps out at the viewer.

And, please refer to some of the comments on your #14 submission. Keep up the good work!

To #16 by baiskee - thanks for your design!

Looks like that might be roller wheels... possibly a printing press, I'm guessing? It's cool that it's 3D, and it's nice that it's got more of a 'wealth' feel to it (rather than too much 'engineering', as most of the other submissions have had). But, to most viewers, they probably wouldn't guess what that logo actually was, and so that might not be very effective.

Also, the serif font isn't working for me very well.

How can you adjust this to make it work better? Can you add a bit more color, or something else?

This message was sent directly to FuturisticLOGO, but I'm so impressed with the designs, I want to post my comments to all of you, here:

August 24th, 2010, 1:51amThanks for your new and revised logo designs!

Please see my "brief update" comments, that I just posted on the site.

#50 is cool-looking, and an improvement on #7. I like your idea to have the $ signs interacting with the gears... but is there a way to make it look more animated? Can you make it look like the $ signs are getting bigger, and/or are being created by the gears? Or, can you use something other than gears to produce or create the $ signs?

#51 is really great! It's the favorite design, out of all of the other logos, from the feedback my friends are giving me. I really like it too! There are so many things that it makes in its statement... like how the engineering is the foundation, and the $ (and the rest) is built on top of it. And, the little crane is in there, as a finishing touch, building the big $ sign - just in case people don't catch the other subtle references to engineering. I love the gradient (if that's the right word) used in the blue section, which looks a bit like a city skyline, and also like a stock chart too. Very good!

I'd love to see some revised versions of this design. One comment I have is to try to make the $ sign pop out a bit more, to the eye. Not sure how you might do this, but see what you can do. Also, can you make the blue blocks higher on the right side? If it's going to remind people of a stock chart, then I'd like it to be in an "uptrend". It doesn't have to go straight up, of course, but for it to be highest on the right side might help. And, although I agree with the scale you've used for the crane on top, can you make it a bit bigger? It's just because it might be hard to see, when the logo is shrunk down onto a business card. (And, some people don't have very good eyes.)

A few other thoughts are to consider using gold and /or silver in there. But, you don't have to. Just some options. And, maybe you could make it a bit 3D-ish... just so it pops out a bit... (although that might change the effect it has... and the detail could get lost when it's shrunk onto a business card...). Well, there's a lot you can play with here, and it has a lot of potential!

I'm really excited to see your revisions! (I might have to try to extend the contest, to give you more time!)

Any other, different, unique concepts?
