Our Ideas & Additional Information
Comstock STEM Academy is the name of the school. The school's current logo does not incorporate "Comstock," and attempts to include it have looked like its inclusion is an afterthought.

The current logo uses 4 colors — blue, green, orange, and purple — tied to the letters S T E M.

We’ve also used a variant of the logo with thematic imagery used inside the lettering. It works okay on screen, but is hard to replicate on printed or embroidered clothing.

We’re in the process of building a new school building, and the new building ideas include a new concept of TERRA, VIDA, HYDRO into design elements. Terra = Earth. Vida = Life. Hydro = Water.

We’re including our current school logo as well as our district logo. We’re also including a couple architectural renderings for the new building so that you can see how a new school logo will be incorporated into the new building. The image with “Finishes” shows some of the colors and textures that will be used throughout the new building.

Imagine this new logo on a t-shirt or a business card, but also as a statement image that people will see when approaching the building. Imagine it on the floor of a new gymnasium. Think big. Think bold.

You are encouraged to visit our website: www.ComstockPS.org to see how we’re branding the district and the school. You’ll find us on social media as well: @ComstockPS - Instagram, Facebook, X.

UPDATE:
Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to submit designs. Your efforts are appreciated. At Comstock STEM Academy, we celebrate failures with our students as much as we do successes; on the whole, we learn much more from failures. So, if we've rejected one of your logos, chin up! Your submissions have helped us to define that much better what it is that we're looking for.

Let me help clarify. I provided the OLD STEM Academy logo to inform where we've been, but not necessarily to illustrate where we're going. Logos that include our old Comstock STEM Academy logo won't be ranked high on our list. We're looking for something new.

Likewise, I've shared the school district's "C-Horse" logo as a reference, but know that we're not thinking that it should be included in any NEW logo for the Comstock STEM Academy. Our district mascot is "the Colts," but we don't need to have any horse imagery included in a new logo for Comstock STEM Academy.

Our new school building will incorporate a theme of "terra, vida, hydro" — earth/land, life/biology, water — and we're embracing that. We would love to see some of those themes explored. If the themes of science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics are echoed somehow, all the better, but we don't need to beat people over the head with S = Science, T = Technology, E = Engineering, and M = Math.

I hope that helps.
