Entries # 1-12 by Icognito. Thank you Incognito for your logo submissions. Unfortunatley, I had to categorize all of them as "not interested". The logos all felt very "alien" to me. The fetus looked a little too strange. I think I am looking for something a bit more abstract and playful for this logo. I am also looking for a much more feminie feel. I would suggest not using any sort of fetus type thing in the logo as it is very difficult to make something like that look good. I want the logo to envoke emotion such as fun/playful/whimsical/ feminine /inviting/ soft, etc. I was to stay away from masculine/high tech/cold/star wars type logos.
Interesting that you had that thought. It was the exact feedback I gave to a designer in a private message. I'm going to go ahead and post that exchange here as well:
Designer comment:
Babies are constantly associated with angels... :) thats why we have the most common terms like "she looks like an angel", "he sleeps like an angel", "goodnight my angel", "my beautiful angel was born within minutes", "our beautiful baby boy who like an angel, fell into our arms from heaven...etc. Babies are absolutely pure just like angels. its definitely a celebration when an an angel graces your life.
My Response:
agree with the angel part.....unfortunatley, however, so many pregnancies end in miscarriage.....and women refer to those babies as "angels". I might be overthinking that issue....but having had 8 miscarriages myself, I am very sympathetic and sensitive to pregnancy loss.
Rich...I really appreciate you making this comment and being willing to share it with everyone. I never know if I am just being too sensitive because of my personal experiences......but to have someone else voice the same concerns confirms my initial thoughts.
I agree that the logos are nice....but the angel metaphors are probably not appropriate for this type of business.
I just wanted to thank ALL OF THE DESIGNERS who have been working on this contest.
Honestly, two days into this process, I was about to request a refund as I was extremely disappointed in what I had seen, as well as the lack of professionalism from the designers. (Well, one in particular)
I can't tell you how glad I am that I "stuck it out". I was skeptical about this type of platform for logo creation.....but I have been EXTREMELY impressed with the drive, determination, creativity and professionalism of the designers who have worked on this project. My ONLY CONCERN at this point is how do I pick a winner?
Most people only find the time to complain about things in a public forum. I think it is far more important to take the time to give praise and appreciation. There has been a lot of criticism about sites that utilize this type of forum to create logos.....but let me tell you.....having worked with numerous designers over the years, it is apparent that the competitive nature of this process encourages everyone to be at the top of their game.
I wish I could pay all employees like this.....that would be the ultimate economic stimulus!!! Imagine the state of the economy if businesses only had to pay those that truly went above and beyond???? It would catapult customer service into a whole different dimension!
Hi I'm kind of in the same "business" as you -- the pregnancy market -- so I thought I'd give my 2 cents!
The font in #97 (your first choice) is overused -- kind of a comic sans family. I would make the graphic playful but the font a little more serious. As for the graphic, it's not clear if it's a stomach (with boobs) or a bag with a bow. If it's meant to be a gift, use #68 instead.
I would also reconsider #98 and #110 (if refined a little more). Since you have the word "face" in your tagline, it really should show a baby face! After all, that is the real result women are desiring when they go for their ultrasound -- to FINALLY SEE THE BABY!!
