Color Preferences
Darker colors like blues and greens mixed with bright, vibrant contrasting colors like orange and yellow are what I see in my head and I like contrasting shades of color, but I'm very open minded being a web designer myself. I just don't want a rainbow... preferably something subtle that will fit in nicely with a web 2.0 design. Bonus points if you can make it look good on white as well as darker gray (like slate) background colors, but one or the other is fine as well.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
I'm looking for something futuristic and eye catching, and something that is a bit more than just clever font usage. I like the use of pictorals/icons in the imagery, and I would love to see some logos that are more concrete and less abstract and/or generic. I like the idea of bits and bytes (either 1s and 0s or hex) to be introduced into the logo, but that isn't required. "Scape" reminds me of a landscape or seascape, something that goes on as far as the eye can see, but that is not necessarily either. I really just need you to use your creativity on this one. If you make me say, "Wow, I wish I would've thought of that," then I will be happy.

Everyone, amazing work so far. I'm really impressed! Ranking these is getting harder and harder every time something new is added. I love a little bit from all of them, and I still can't believe we are only a day into the contest so far.

The only thing I haven't really seen yet is a Pictoral Mark (that doesn't include Letterform, at least) or an Emblem Mark. If anyone has any cool ideas to offer for these, then I would love to see them. I'm open to trying anything, so please don't hesitate to submit them!

Thanks again for all of your hard work.

Designers, thank you for all of the wonderful designs thus far. I've changed the style sliders around because I'm curious to see something a little different, so if anyone starts anything new, please pay attention to the new values of the style sliders in the contest brief.

Keep up the amazing work everyone! And thank you for your time and dedication!

There have been a gush of really good last minute entries over the past day or two that have really overwhelmed me, and I need more time to think it over. As I'm not in a hurry to have this logo, I've decided that it would be best to just extend the contest. I'm still interested in seeing any and all entries that you might want to submit, and in my mind, there is no winner yet. Most of my friends and colleagues have completely differing opinions on what they like and don't like, so I really want to try to get as much agreement as possible before I make my decision. I have a LOT that I need to think about. Thanks everyone for the amazing designs! I've been very happy with my experience thus far, and I have all of you to thank for that.

Designers, PLEASE DO NOT WITHDRAW YOUR IMAGES UNTIL THE CONTEST IS OVER OR UNLESS I SPECIFY THAT IT IS A NON-INTERESTING LOGO. I just realized that one design was ranked low on my list of favorites, but almost everyone I invited into the contest put it as their first or second choice. Even though I disagreed with them, that was one of the key reasons I extended the contest, so I had time to think about it. The person that withdrew the design I'm talking about will obviously have no chance of winning now, which is a shame.
