@fabiobarreiro #1 and #2 ... I like the idea, but FIRST ist an acronym for "females in research, science and technology". Therefore i don“t like a short form of the acronym. Would be hard to get the meaning of it. The green should be darker (#5eb63c).
@ufotofu (galactic name :-) #3 ... be a little bit more creative with the "FIRST" (but stay with letters as it is an acronym) I would like the slogan under the logo: "females in research, science and technology"
i like your approach ... but i guess the administration of the university likes the logo (as seen on the website (www.boku.ac.at). Can you stick a little bit closer to it? Also i would like the slogan underneath the logo: "females in research, science and technology".
All of you ... Thanx for participating so far 2 Things: - color of the green should be #5eb63c - The size of the LOGO of the University ("BOKU") can also vary. Also it is not obligatory to use it (it's said in the content brief: should/could). Who knows, maybe a creative idea can lead to a full redisign of the CI ;-))
I extended the contest as I'm at a Conference this week and didn't really find enough time to comment on the entries. There are quite a few very good Ideas, but i still miss the one i really want ;-)
Thanx for your participation so far. I will comment as soon as possible.
OK, contest's over. Congratulation to charcoal for the winning LOGO and to peron and zie for second and third place as well as to the other ranked designers.
And Thanx to all of you for participating. This is a great oportunity for getting a professional logo for a reasonable prize. I will be here more often i guess.
Some comments on the decision and my lessons learned:
(1) The winning design has a quite female touch with the letters "first". The jury was partly female and as the project is for female students, this was part of the jury's decicion (2) Perons design (second place) was my favorite as it represented the main topis of the universities research (natural ressources, sustainability, forestry) quit well. Anyway, because of (1) it ranked only second
Lessons learned: (1) The communication about the original BOKU-Logo was confusing i guess. This was due to the restrictions of the holder of the IPR of the logo. It was quite confusing for me to. Next time i would only let the original logo be placed as placeholder, so i could put the logo just beside the original one. (2) i noticed that the communication at the end of the tournament was qiute stressing. sorry for not responding to every participant. I had to do my regular work beside the contest :-) (3) The communicationitself helped a lot at the end to communicate my whishes. (3) The time-zone-shift favored people in the eastern part of the world as I was mainly working during the morning CET. So especially at the end, they had an advantage. I couldn't have made it in another way!
So thanx again for participating and keep on with your great designs at logotournament!
