What We Do
We are establishing a new professional organization for interpreters and translators in K-12 educational settings. Our vision and mission statements are the following:
Vision Statement: To be the national authority for professional interpreters and translators in education through advocacy, education and professionalization of the field.
Mission Statement: The mission of the ITE workgroup is to promote the recognition and professionalization of the interpreter and translator in educational settings through communicating timely relevant information to all stakeholders, and the continued development and implementation of nationally-recognized best practices, code of ethics, standards of practice; professional development and training opportunities for practitioners in the field; and a national certification program.
We have an existing logo that we want to use as the base for this logo (see later answers).
This logo will be a national brand for an organization that will be visible to the language services industry in the United States and internationally. We have social media, blogging, website and other communications that will use the logo.
The core constituency is practicing interpreters and translators.
Color Preferences
We'd like to see a variety of greens and complementary color matches. We would like to stay away from blues because they are so present in our profession already.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Our organization has been using this logo for almost two years. We want to keep the base design idea of the graduation cap with the tassel, and probably ITE incorporated into the hat. We now need to add the additional letters of "AA" as we have a new name: American Association of Interpreters and Translators in Education (AAITE).
We want to see creative ideas for updating this logo, including colors and fonts, etc. You can see more about our organization at: iteworkgroup.org
