What We Do
Words Across Borders is focused on integrating professional interpreting and translation into organizations in the US and around the world through providing consulting, training, curriculum development and advocacy for language access. True communication is impossible if ideas are not fully and correctly captured when they are carried across languages. Multilingual communication is a back and forth journey where great care is taken to preserve the intended meaning.

Color Preferences
I want a logo that reflects a high mountain desert palette. Dusky pinks, browns, with sage and pine greens and a blue sky. Think Eastern Sierras of California meets Death Valley. Here are two links to color palettes that are desert-like.

Our Ideas & Additional Information
I want full creativity. But I would be happy to see ideas that incorporate a rock cairn, a sense of journey across a border. The rock cairn is a signpost or waystation in the communication journey, the correct
path that interpreters and translators both have to find and provide when transferring meaning across languages. Don’t lose meaning. I am not 100% opposed to the use of speech bubbles to indicate communication, but they are much overused in my field (translation and interpreting). The deeper meaning of my business to promote true multilingual communication through working with professional linguists - so that when you speak, the nuanced meaning of what you say does not get lost. I am attaching three other logos to businesses/projects I am involved with to give you a sense of what I have selected in the past - but I do NOT want any kind of riff or related logo.
