Our Ideas & Additional Information
I picture Visceral Racing in some sort of font that is very concrete - solid, not ornate, and not at all delicate. The tagline "Feel it", if added in, should be in a different kind of font, either a script or a scrawl, just dramatically different.

The more it screams RACING, the better. Flames, silhouette of the 911, racing stripes, racing flags, anything like that could be a bonus. Keep it masculine and bold.

I attached a picture of the car, just in case that helps.

I like your gradients, but when we embroider this design on clothing, we may not be able to fully execute the detail of the way the colors fade or blend in your design. If an element of your logo has a gradient, that may be a plus for the way it will look online and in print. Several of the submitted logos with gradients look FANTASTIC. However the absence of that gradient (on an embroidered apparel item) is something that you should keep in mind. Gradients as accents, that give a chrome look or a sparkle to the design are fine, but gradients that clearly embody more than 3 shades/colors, or that fade away completely from one side of the design to the other, may not work well for what we are doing.

Thanks again for all of your submissions. Your artwork is very exciting, and ranking it is extremely difficult. Although they are ranked one by one, there are many tied for 2nd place, 3rd place, or 4th place in my opinion.

My partner has finally been able to review your logos, and we have removed a lot of GREAT logos that just weren't what he had in mind. He likes the two color logos, but he is interested in seeing 3 color logos that are red, blue and silver.

If you add the tag line "Feel It" (and he has asked several designers to add that element in) he would like to see it in a a font that is different from the rest of the logo. Aim for fonts that feel out of control, graffiti, hand written, messy, dirty, or wild for "Feel It."

Our favorite logo so far for Visceral Racing is a very traditional block style. The more modern or digital looking letters with unusual angles on the capital As and Rs are just not quite right for what we need.

We would like to see confident strength in the words Visceral Racing, and carefree rebellion in the words Feel It.

Thanks so much for your patience and your modifications.

I would like to clarify something about the tagline Feel It.
Imagine you made the perfect logo, and then some hoodlum came along and wrote FEEL IT across your design. We aren't visualizing it as a neat (and tiny) entry to the logo.

If necessary, we can just add it to your design after the fact, but I don't have the familiarity with fonts that you do, so I would love to see someone really capture that effect.

Visceral is a word that describes a feeling that comes from inside your body. It's the kind of thing that happens when you hear loud music and your heart beats faster, or when you get to the peak of a roller coaster, and your stomach drops as you look over the edge -- before the car even starts to race downhill. You are giving me great logos for the racing idea, but the tagline Feel It - is a reference to the body reaction that happens when an engine roars or when a car moves so fast or so unexpectedly that it causes your pulse to race, or your body to tremble. "Feel it" isn't coming from an executive or from your grandmother. Feel it is raw and out of your control.

I apologize for not being able to explain this graphically, but we are looking for a sharp contrast to the design with the words feel it.

Please let me know if you have questions.

Also, I know I originally said 2 colors was my preference, but my partner would rather have a design with RED and BLUE in addition to the silver/white and black (or black background). He will be the one to make the final decision.

Also, he is rejecting cars that don't "look right" because he knows cars extremely well. You have much more freedom and flexibility with design elements that are completely abstract, or that represent elements other than the car. If you can NAIL a Porsche GT3 or Cayman GT4, then go for it because those are the actual cars that will bear this logo. We have one logo in the rankings right now that he liked because it was abstract enough to appear to be a blend of those cars. He rejected a different logo because the tail wing on the car "wasn't right". If you include a Porsche silhouette, I just want you to know upfront that he has a very narrow window of what he likes.

AGAIN, I'm thoroughly impressed with your ideas. Keep them coming! Thanks so much.

I've uploaded some samples to give you a feel for the tagline, but these are not specific fonts that I need you to use. Also, the tagline could go across the logo, or be huge behind the logo . . . I'm interested to see your interpretations. One challenge I've encountered is the the letters F E and L all look really similar -- a lot of times FEEL is not legible in a crazy font. That's where Feel might work better. Feel it is the tagline and not the logo, but to be effective, it will need to be roughly 1/3 the size of the logo as a whole.

Also, out of at least 25 designs, my partner has only approved only ONE DESIGNER'S (PonetzGraphics) car silhouette. He's rejected all of the others. If you choose to go with a depiction of a car, you are choosing the most difficult approach. (just a word of warning)

The font for Visceral Racing will be most likely to get ranked if it is wide and bold with no funky serifs or unnatural bends in the letters.

The font for Visceral Racing should look almost like it was drawn with a magic marker or lipstick (http://latymermedia2010mvjessw.blogspot.com/) or something otherwise dramatic. Let yourself cut loose and have fun with the Feel it - but remember, it has to be legible.

To clarify for the newcomers:
The crazy font is only supposed to be for the tagline FEEL IT.
Visceral Racing has to be in a standard, wide, bold, Block type of font.
I know there are lot of comments, but if you scroll up, you'll see this has been the same from the start. Thanks!

I just uploaded a picture of the GMC logo. This is the type of font we would like to see for Visceral Racing. Big Bold Wide. Not necessarily THAT precise font, but something like that.

Thanks!
Rhonda

PS - I will shuffle the rankings later in order to give a few of you another chance.
