Our Ideas & Additional Information

The background of our Gaming Studio comes from what is also our Gaming Community, established back in 1999 (www.VigilantAddiction.com) - The story about the name comes from Gamers that had to carefully 'watch' (Vigilant) their video game 'Addiction'. Generally because they had jobs, wives, kids, and so forth. The name is also usually played into the "Good Vs. Evil" mentality; as shown in other concepts/references attached.

The "FINAL LOGO_Reversed Colors" attachment is actually a very close representation to what we were looking for, a few years ago; however communication with the artist that created that logo halted and we were never able to attain the rights to it.

"pixelVA" attachment is what we're using right now; only because our first game was a throw-back pixel game (Adventurer Manager) and fit the tone of the game. However, now we're looking for a Logo to encompass the entire Studio and all of its games that we create in the future; and we'd like the logo to give off more of an overall 'feeling' of our Studio as a whole; not just a specific game tone.

Client

We certainly want to thank -everyone- that's put in a submission. This has been very, very hard for us to make decisions on as a development team. We're really hoping that this logo helps define our Indie Studio and stick with us as we grow; which means there's a very good chance that millions of gamers will see this logo when they boot up our games, and visit our sites.

The decisions are starting to get very, very hard to consider/make and I expect a lot of rank moving as more and more of our development team puts their comments in.. as we move into the Finalists Phase.

Just a heads up to all working on something within the remaining 18 hours of this comment; we'll only be up/online for probably the next 8-10 hours due to our time-zone/location. So, we will not be able to provide feedback once we all retire to bed, unfortunately. (Since this is our first rodeo, we're not sure what we'll wake up to in the morning, and/or if we'll be able to make final adjustments if needed, at the end.

More and more of our development team are sending in their comments and ideas tonight; as we near the end of the 'Open' phase. I'm sure the ranking will be moving a -lot- as we focus in on getting our Top 5 Artists into the Finalist stage.

Edit: I've also had requests to see some more usage of full colors; Blues / Yellows.

Most of the team is offline but have been instructed to message me with any changes they would like to see that happens overnight. We're heading to sleep; however it looks like there's going to be about 1-2 hours available for us to check in on things in the morning before it ends!

Since we're pretty new to LT we've been digging around as what we would be expected to see/get in the end; and it seems (forgive our 'newbness' here) we need to request that designs be made available to work with Transparent/White/Black/etc backgrounds of various colors. Those variations in the design, to fit those situations, would be requested of the winner, thanks!

That may be common practice from designers; however we just wanted to make sure that everyone was aware that it is something that we will need.

Now that we're hunting through the FAQ/Information from LT... we don't want to cut things short, but we also want to be as fair as possible to the designers.

Since this is a logo heading into the Gaming Industry; we would need layered objects/scenes (lingo?) so we can make various adjustments to color/location when it comes to the Logo and Text placements together. A lot of the devices we work with and have to submit our logos to... have very specific requirements for sizes. We would need to be able to move the Logo (if designed at the to) to the left, or right, as well to meet potential height requirements.

A very big "thank you!" to everyone that participated in our contest! It hasn't been easy and it's been a very fun event for us here at VAStudios. We know we'll have a very touch decision to make in the morning tomorrow but we're looking forward to hopefully getting back online early to, maybe, reach out for some final revisions if needed and feedback.

Thanks for the ride, it's been amazing, and we're excited to pick out our logo and start tossing it on our games/media!
