What We Do
An entertainment group, comprised of industry working dancers, singers and actors, that relevantly promotes awareness on social justice issues through a combination of hip-hop (dance and music) and innovative theater experiences.

Color Preferences
Looking for a white background. We are looking for white, black and red. But, if the design is great, are open to absolutely any colors. Just no rainbow effect.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Our poorly designed current logo is our name in BROOKLYN KID font-type graffiti. We are fine sticking with a graffiti concept as well as incorporating a symbol (just ideas, not necessary). Although we are a Christian-based organization, we are not looking for any obvious or blatant graphic associations with religion or Christianity. Our performance aesthetic is extremely urban, grunge, graffiti; so we are looking for something that emulates that but is also modern/sleek and mature looking. Although social justice awareness is a key element in what we do, we are also not looking for a blatant expression of that. Unless the concept is incredible, any inclusion of "religious" or "social justice" imagery, although welcomed, should be subtle.

We are an extremely "out of the box", socially conscious hip-hop dance crew/theater group. Think MTV, Cirque Du Soleil and subway dance crews put together in a blender... that's us.

Hey Designers!

Just wanted to say a big thank you for the work and effort that you will be putting into your designs.

We are looking for a wordmark, but would also like a pictoral or abstract mark, where the wordmark could eventually be removed, and the other could stand on it's own. With that said, we are also open to just a solid wordmark.

Again, we are looking for something modern but we also use a lot of aesthetic themes like stencil, graffiti, brick. Something that could be found spray-painted or posted on a nyc construction wall...

Although we have ideas of our own, we are artists as well and want you to feel like you have plenty of creative freedom to express what you believe our vision to be.

Thanks again for your work in advance!

We also really love Banksy-inspired graffiti or a very iconic (possibly including a pictoral or abstract image) spray paint stencil. Just some more ideas.

With this idea, we thought it would be neat if it were one color so that we could always change the color used as we feel like it. (Different colored shirts, different colors on different pages of a website, etc.)

Designers,

Although we are looking for something graffiti/urban/hip, we are also looking for an obvious logo that leans toward the modern aesthetic. I know this may seem contradictory... so if this direction is too challenging, just create something really fun, loud, and interesting.

Again, we are basically a dance crew that raises awareness for social justice through an MTV/Cirque Du Soleil/Subway Dance Crew style...

Designers,

Thank you so much for your submissions so far. I have tried to be as honest and thorough in my comments and have tried to rank as much as possible (although, to be honest, ranking is EXTREMELY challenging).

We really feel like we are on the right track and would love for you to continue brainstorming and continue submitting ideas.

We are always looking for designs for merch shirts and stickers as well, so we will probably be looking to PM many of you after the contest ends to purchase some of these because we love a lot of them.

Remember, we want to give you total freedom here. We are wanting something that shows we are exciting, out of the box, modern, yet urban. Something that you would see someone spray paint stencil on every corner that isn't just a normal stencil. Again, we aren't scared and are open to a pictoral or abstract mark as well. Although we don't want anything cheesy, please feel free to try out some things with social justice (a globe or something comes to mind) or that we are a Christian based company (any "christian" imagery should be subliminal, but it would be incredible if we could explain it to people.) We would want something subliminal because we are not hokey, annoying Christians and would gag if there was an obvious cross or angel wings or something...

Just some ideas.

I've been looking at some other contests which I feel are very static in terms of design. Remember, although we have suggestions... we are open to absolutely anything!

Thank you very much for all the time you are putting into this. It doesn't go unnoticed or unappreciated!

Of course we come up with a great idea in the last hours... I may extend this a little if people seem to catch on... a few ideas that we are thinking about...

- bar codes
- cassette tapes

we are in the process of doing short films and have been brainstorming a lead-in for our company. here's what we are thinking about. an old record-player from the 70's. dirty. someone puts a vinyl record on the player. the vinyl record is old and spray painted as a globe. once the record starts spinning, the spray painted "globe" record starts to come to life, real trees grow out of it, birds fly, etc.

this represents what our aesthetic is (hip-hop) but also that we are trying to show people life through our art and through social justice awareness. wondering if anyone wants to take a stab at the final picture of the vinyl record? maybe the top half is "life" and has trees and plants and water, fire, etc. while the bottom half is still spraypainted like the bottom half of the globe.

just some ideas.

we really love what you guys are doing!
