What We Do
New general (family) dental office in a growing urban residential neighborhood that focuses on customer experience (caring attitude and modern technology).
Industry

Color Preferences
Would like to avoid red if it reminds people of blood.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
We are looking for a fresh, clean logo that will also look nice and clear in large or small, color or black/white format. We plan on using this logo throughout our stationary, marketing materials, and outdoor light-box signage.
Hopefully we can come up with an original design that doesn't have the stock shapes/images of tooth, toothbrush/toothpaste, and dental instruments that have been used so many times for other dental office logos.

Seeking designs from all styles: Wordmark, Pictorial Mark, Abstract Mark, Letterform mark, Emblem, and Web 2.0.

Thanks in advance to all the talented designers for your wonderful contribution! We welcome your creative ideas. Logotournament.com was chosen as the platform to seek original ideas because we feel a professionally designed logo will bring a sense of quality not achieved by doing this ourselves. That's why we requested not to use stock images or designs.

Since the logo will be used for all publications and signage, we are seeking a logo that also can be read from a distance. We prefer to have each letter to be clearly readable at a quick glance. That means although we like to see ideas that morph the letters to make the logo more interesting, but not to the extend that the practice name in it cannot be read easily. And we like people to notice that we are a dental clinic at the first glance. 'Unity' and 'Dental' need to be at least equally emphasized in the logo, if not stressing "DENTAL" more. For example, maybe "UNITY DENTAL" can be placed on the same line and emphasized by color, pattern, size; while "CENTRE" can be de-emphasized with less obvious color/pattern/size and position? Please share with us what you would recommend.

We are looking for a design that feels refreshing, clean, modern and welcoming. The idea of unity being having all natural elements in harmony, working together to bring about whole-body health for the patients. A colored abstract mark that also look nice in black and white would be ideal! We are not just limited to dental-related shapes. Actually, we prefer a logo that doesn't have the shapes/images of tooth, toothbrush/toothpaste, and dental instruments.

Theses links have office logos that drew our attention:

Those logo have clean-cut images. In addition to the practice name, we prefer to have a graphical symbol that reflects our philosophy and name. The last link/example above cleverly used Letter B and nature elements. It looks nice in black and white, too.

We appreciate your original ideas. It's great to see so many creative designs without using stock images!

Thank you!

Thank you for all the creative designs! We really appreciate all your inputs!

We are getting a lot of logos with a leaf/leaves. We are not necessarily looking for a leaf in the logo. Rather we are seeking a logo that represents harmony. More specifically, pieces working together in harmony. 'Pieces' can be natural elements or anything creative. even anthing abstract. We want a logo that shows unity by having two (or more) elements working in harmony to produce something good.

Also, since the logo will be used for signage, the word unity and dental (especially dental) need to stand out in a white background. So that the sign can be seen clearly from a distance. The green used in newer entries is a nice color, but they are not as visible as we would like.

Would you mind to try other colors such as different shades of blue?

For the practice name, our team voted that they like the gradient of deeper blue color more than the lighter blue. And other than images of leaves and multiple people, we are interested to see more of your interpretations of "unity" with other abstract graphics.

We prefer the meaning of unity being "something whole or complete that is composed of separate parts" and "the arrangement of the elements in a work of art in accordance with a single overall design or purpose". Thank of jigsaw puzzles coming together to form the complete picture. Those puzzles could be elements in nature (sky, earth, water, tress, man, etc). Any creative image that also implies quality and refinement would be nice, too.

About 10 minutes left for your entries. Please send in all your creative ideas! We really appreciate everyone's help on this project. It's very pleasant working with you all and it's wonderful seeing our philosophy turning into something visual.

We are hoping to see designs that can attract female clients. Something eye-catching but not too dense. Can we see some examples of simple graphic designs that would be appealing to the female audience? Those designs with natural elements looks less intimidating to our female team members, but we are trying to find a way to tie it to the idea of "unity".

We have asked for an extension for designers to have a chance to come back with their designs after the weekend. We are eager to get the project going, but we also understand people have other things to attend to during their weekends. Please make use of the extension time provided and submit your new ideas. We are still open to fresh creative concepts.

Thank you and have a nice weekend!

We like designs that will look nice in color or black-and-white, near and far, on paper and on light-box signage. We are, however, trying to avoid the use of those "little human" images if we can because they have been used so often for other businesses. We are looking for fresh images and just hope those can serve as an inspiration.

Thank you for submitting your ideas!

Hi All,

The client would really like a design from LT but is dependent on a group decision. He has requested on more extension. He has expressed appreciation for all entries so far and hopes you'll consider some new ideas.
