Thanks for your entries. We love the work we saw on your profile! Several of them look very clean and dynamic. I like the fact that you can make the logos come alive even with just a couple of different colors. Do you think you can come up with something like what you did for Vivistim, eSpice, Coastal dental, or Cypress Audit Team?
Hi. Thanks for the follow up. First off, let me apologize for my lack of responsiveness. I've been traveling and have had limited access to the web. I will work on some new concepts for you right now. I should let you know that in the current phase, only the first five ranked designers can post revisions.
#259 looks interesting. It seems more "dynamic" than the earlier designs. Any way we can keep the same dynamic feel and reduce the sharp points? We have been advised that patients tend to associate sharp points with pain in the dental office.
Sorry for the delay. I have made a new version with rounder shapes. The contest has entered its final stage (judging mode), in which only the designer ranked in 1st place may submit revisions. Would it be possible for you to re-rank me temporarily so I could post my design?
Here is the feedback we got: We are on the right track. But comparing to #259, it seems the design lost it's "dynamic" feeling in #271 and #272. Maybe it's the difference in the angle and shade/light change? Can we adjust #271 to see if it can mirror what we feel in #259? At this moment, our team members like #259 because it's "alive".
Luck for us, the administrator has agreed to allow an extension so you will have time to make adjustments.
We will be using the logo on the light box sign (long rectangular space) above our clinic. Could you show us a variation of your design #259 in a horizontal orientation (the logo graphic on the left side of practice name)? Your design is now receiving a lot of praises from our survey.
Sorry for being unresponsive. I'm currently away from my computer and won't be able to get this done until a few hours from now. I hope you don't mind.
Welcome back. Now that the arrangement is horizontal, would it make sense to align the word "centre" to the left or right edge? Could you show me a few examples of such alignments?
Looks a bit off-balance in horizontal orientation. I guess it was certainly designed to be in vertical arrangement to start with. The graphic on the left draws our attention away from the practice name on the right. (It's a good thing. That means the graphic is really eye-catching.) Can we find a way to balance it out? What do you suggest? (e.g. making the graphic smaller, changing the color/font/arrangement of practice name, etc)
To be honest, the logo looks good in vertical orientation, whether the graphic part is large or small. It only felt a bit out of balance when the graphic part is placed on the left. Can we try shrinking the graphic slightly and place it to the left?
Among #307, 308, 309, and 310, I think #307 is easier to read than #308 and #309 looks more harmonious than #310 because of the color. Hope that helps. By the way, what's the name of font we are using here? I understand there are certain fonts that are easier to read than others. That's important to us because we want good "readability" to drive-by traffic which only have a couple of seconds to read the sign.
Great! I will present the design to our team members tomorrow morning for their feedback. By the way, what other fonts do you feel would also achieve our desire for "readability" but still maintain the esthetic value of our logo? There are suggestions that certain fonts (e.g. verdana) are easier to read than other. Can we try a few different fonts you might recommend?
Letters in #323 felt a bit too bold and stiff. In #325, the letter "t" seems to be missing a part if someone just take a quick glance at it. #324 seems to be more pleasant than the other two. What are those fonts used?
Your choice of using Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk Extended seems to fit the logo graphic better. Is that a free font that's easily available? I couldn't find it in my windows fonts folder. If possible, we would like to consider using free fonts that are used often enough (I am guessing that means they will be included in the windows font library). What free fonts would look similar to Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk Extended?
Looks like the only way for you to submit new entries is to be at the top of the list. Let me do that so you can post those variations with different free fonts. Hope that helps.
I sifted through my font library, and couldn't find a font that resembles Berthold Akzidenz. It's a very unique font, whose characters seem to blend well with one another. For instance, I can't find a font that has the perfect "Y". The tail from the "y" from Berthold Akzidenz (#259) has the perfect ending, which allows the word "Centre" to be at the right off distance from "Unity Dental."
The font from #324, per your suggestion, is Verdana, with the word "Centre" being Berthold Akzidenz.
Now, if it came down to your use of the fonts, I would have no problem in providing you with the font files. That's usually a pretty common request on the part of some contest holders.
Could you suggest some free, more widely-used fonts that will go well with your design? We really appreciate your efforts in designing this logo and we hope there are free fonts that can fit our use here. It will be great if you could give it a try.
I wonder what others are using. Can you recognize the fonts used in design #283, 269, or 72?
Thanks. Can you tell me the names of those fonts used in those? (#337, #338, #339, #340, #341, #342, #343, #344) I will try looking them up.
#334: I believe that's the Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk Extended in the original version?
#335, 336: So two-tone (blue/green) nature of the logo got lost here, too. Can this logo be presented in black-and-white but still be able to distinguish one half from the other? For example, using pattern or outline to represent one half the graphic (e.g. solid white/black for the blue-color part, and pattern or just outline to represent the green color half of the graphic)
#337, 338: Shape of font is nice, too bad the letter "t" is missing a part, as mentioned in #325. What's the name of this font?
#339, 340: What's the name of this font?
#341, 342: What's the name of this font?
#343, 344: Letters looks a bit too "thick" sitting beside the graphic part of the logo. What's the name of this font?
Any other fonts you would like me to consider? It doesn't have to look the same as Berthold Akzidenz Grotesk Extended. Just need it to look nice . Thank you
