Discussion

Thanks to all that have submitted so far. I'd like to see more realistic, 3D logos, if possible. #7 appeals to me because it appears more realistic than the others.

Just re-ranked the entries. I definitely prefer the more serious logos over the ones that are more cartoonish.
If this information helps, this logo will mainly be used in a companion website to my blog website www.LessonsFromTheCockpit.com. I don't mind something whimsical, however.

Nice work, everyone. In general, I like the symbol beside the words to the left, versus on top. Since the logo has to do with writing and words flow across the page from left to right, it makes more sense to me to have the symbol to the left of the words, so it is linear, with the second choice the symbol to the left of stacked words. That said, I don't want to discourage anyone from some clever design that is not linear.

Thanks.

I read some discussions on the forums that cleared up some things for me in terms of "best practices," per se, that contest holders should adhere to, so I've tried to rank all the entries (minus some of the variations) versus moving them to the non-interesting categories. I will try to give some specific feedback on the individual entries later today, tomorrow morning at the latest.

Thanks

* 350x280 pixels or (width/height ratio of 1.25:1) in JPG, PNG, or GIF format
* Only one variation per upload (example: if you want to show a logo in red, blue, and yellow. You would create and upload 3 separate files)

Thanks for everyone's hard work. I like so many of these that it makes it a difficult choice. I appreciate all the submissions.
