Our Ideas & Additional Information
Logo -

We are wanting a tree as the tree is seen as a powerful symbol of growth, as the tree is the only living thing that continues to grow throughout its lifetime.
We see it representing humans as we too develop roots, strengthen our trunk and branch out to a wider vision of life as we grow.
It provides provide shelter.
Tall and strong, it has deep roots. It loses its leaves and grows new ones, bears fruit, gives shelter.
With nurture and care, it lives for generations.

I have provided the following examples. All the links below are examples only which we do not own, provided just for examples

Tree examples -
1. http://nl.dreamstime.com/stock-photography-stock-photography-family-tree-image18164012
we like the idea of the trunk of this tree representing a person but without the lower side branches
2. http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-71671495/stock-vector-abstract-green-tree-symbol-of-nature.html

Trunk colour –
Dark brown/black

Leaves/branches –
Less is more, not a busy tree with loads of leaves and branches

Colours for leaves -
Resonating to the colours of magenta, dark orange, burnt orange, light orange, dark green, see examples below -

Font/Wording (The Inspired Family) -
Can the aim be to kind of match the font to the style of the icon, yet avoiding the icon and font competing with each other for attention, finding the right balance, somewhere in the middle?

Font colour – suggestion the same colour as trunk?
Wording on the right side of logo? See notes below about website.

Our webpage will be a very simple layout. Here is our web developers website, it is an example of the layout of our home page to be, so you get a feel for the heading size where our logo will be placed etc... The heading depth is not deep so we prefer a simple and effective logo - http://www.webforcefive.com.au/www/home/

The end result –
•To be simple
•To be able to be scaled to any size without losing quality so needs to be effective when just an inch in size
•Simple so that it can easily be reproduced at any size
•To be memorable

Thank you

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ When you provide feedback to designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" designers are the first 5 designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The designer of the 1st place design will be the only designer who can submit revisions at that time.

Hi guys,

Gee I think I may have then made a boo boo as I was unaware of the 'unique design' bit, thankfully designer 'cdinnucci' provided me with some feedback and I grateful it was brought to my attention, so wanted to share here with you all.

We liked the look of the leaf of design #42 in the word inspired, we felt that was a great idea, so wanted that idea on the wording 'inspired'. So we sincerely apologise if we have made a mistake in our feedback today by suggesting to the designers to use a leaf in their designs too. So with this in mind, can you please disregard that suggestion please, as it is our intention to work ethically and honestly will all designers as we appreciate the designs from you all.
Please let me know if you need further explanation or feedback too.
Cheers

Please note: all i did was to remind the contest holder that asking for a leaf over the center i in place of a dot (as she had seen in #42, was asking designers to use a protected element, which was not allowed, And, therefore I could not do as the CH requested and place a leaf over the center i. Apparently the CH had also asked other designers to do the same and was in the comment above retracting her request for that specific design element which is for this contest protected for LeahMB1. I don't think it came off quite clear in the comment above.

Hi everyone,

This contest is coming to an end in an hour, wow! All is going great and we have been enjoying the process and experience with you all here, so thanks guys.

Once this is all finalised, I am aware we receive the logo by files etc... however what is the go if we also want the logo to be split so the tree on one file and the wording on another file. Reason being, I know we are wanting to use the tree on our Facebook page, yet not needing the wording.

Also for future products, like pens, cups etc... we may just want the tree.
What is the go here, would love some feedback.
I hope I am making sense etc...?

Thanks in advance

the eps file you will get is one that any professional--web designer, printer, etc. should be able to extract and/or make an appropriate file type from for their output.
