Color Preferences
Use: my personal colors are mixes of tans, creams, whites which are clean, sophisticated, luxurious and perfection. If they don't translate well, then I'd add a Ralph Lauren navy, a rich/soft gray and/or a wealthy carmel.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The DJ B logo attached is my son's that will be part of the website we share, until he has his own website. He is 12 so I think it is cute and captures his talent.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ You, the Client, are very important! Your active participation is the single greatest factor influencing this contest. Active participation by you, the Client, helps you get the logo design you want!
~~ What's active participation? It's updating the brief with more information for Designers to work with as the contest progresses, providing feedback to Designers on their entries when they're submitted, and ranking designs at least once a day.
~~ When you provide feedback to Designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Rank designs at least once each day -- this will encourage Designers to submit more entries!
~~ Ranking prevents your contest from going idle! Active contests attract more Designers.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed. Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Please note: if you're asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract Designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked Designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" Designers are the first 5 Designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The Designer of the 1st place design will be the only Designer who can submit revisions at that time.

Hello,

A couple of questions. To begin...you should probably be aware that there is no attachment as you mention in the brief. If you can provide a link to the website you mention (your son's I believe), that would be fine.

Also: as this is a logo design aimed at C-Level professionals and business owners, is there a particular reason why you are asking for an approach that may demonstrate child-like qualities? I have not seen the logo you reference, but you do mention that it is a cute logo. How much of a balance between cute and serious are you going for? Are you perhaps targeting non-profits that deal with childhood issues (cancer, medical issues, etc.)...?

One last question is this...are you asking us to use your son's logo as your own? That we should not come up with any concepts of our own, and just build on the concept your 12-year-old son has designed? Please clarify your intent, as it will be helpful to know where you are coming from on this.

Designers thank you for your comments and helpful feedback in advance. We are a community of talented, professional Designers with many years of experience in branding and logo design itself. We wish you the best of luck in your contest.

My son's logo is just to see his logo, not to copy the cute look or colors. What I like is that it shows what he does quickly with his dj name. Did my son's logo attach?

Ideally, I want my logo to be elegant, sophisticated, clean, simple but with that "ah ha" to it...I "get it" feeling. I want to highlight that the 'fundamentals' is based on the fundamental 'steps (tools)' to success fundraising and event planning. I see my company as three aspects: event planning; fundraising; PR. So maybe three steps with the use of my color scheme: creams, tans, white, navy, greys?

I should clarify that 'steps' should be interpreted as building blocks, not steps as in feet or footprints. I hope that helps. Remember there are three elements to my business: events, fundraising, PR. So when someone sees the logo and reads the name, they have the 'I get it' feeling.

I can't figure out how to attach my son's logo...ugh. Sorry. It's not crucial to my design.

This is becoming tough to pick! I'm really liking the Papyrus font on 'amentals'. So my ranking will include those with that font.
