#14: Love the contemporary feel and the white background. Do not like the cross treatment in the middle of the design. Crosses are tied directly to traditional Christianity and this message is multi-faith, multi-denominational. The only way a symbol so directly tied to one religion could work is if there were a variety of symbols that represented a variety of spiritual practices . . .

#1 & #10 : Typeface for "Where Many are One" might be a little hard to read in smaller sizes. Love the stained glass window treatment . . . and it really pops coming out of black.

Not sure I like the "window frame" effect on #1 . . . maybe it's just the shape of the window. Then again, this would look very cool and help to define the design, on a mug or tshirt.

#7 & #13
There was an entire group of these and I marked most of them "not interested" primarily because of the pronounced cross in the design. But I did like the "clean" design that made it easy to look at and easy to read. And in these 2 colors they could maybe be used if other choices aren't available.

But in general I am not trying to conjure up the classic vision of a church. (Even though I love the other design, i.e. #10). Ultimately I want something that has some energy and movement . . . something that communicates community more than worship . . . something that says, without me explaining it: it takes a lot of individuals to create a great (spiritual) community.

#17 - Love the warmth and the illumination in the middle. Love the fonts. Can't use as is with the cross so clearly featured, but could consider it with the cross removed.

General note: Logo must work across multiple religions and spiritual practices, not just Christianity.

Another possible angle is the oneness of all people. Don't get so hung up on spirituality that you only think of religion for images.

Idea Germ: What about a circle, with the words stained glass spirit around the outside . . . and the stained glass effect featuring faces of people?

#28 - The jewel tones really work. They are warm, but still bright.

#33 - Building on the concept of people is really fabulous. I like that they are placed around a core circle that makes them individual, but all one, at the same time. My big problem with this one is it is just too cluttered. My eyes don't know where to focus.

Thanks to all the designers . . . you are not going to make this an easy decision! I appreciate your talent and your creativity.

The brief explains what I want . . . and here are key questions I'm asking myself as I review each design:

* Does it present the concept?
* Whether it's bright, warm, 2-color or full-color . . . do the colors support the message/concept?
* Can I use it as a logo in a powerpoint presentation as easily as I can use it for promotional products?
* Does it draw attention to one key element - Do my eyes gravitate to one thing?
* If there is an icon/image . . . is it just as effective without the accompanying words, i.e. if I used it as a lapel pin or as an emblem on a shirt or award?
* If there is text, is it easy to read? Will it be clear at both 14pt and at 144 pt? No shadows or embossed type that doesn't show up well in different uses.
* How will it look when someone prints it in black & white because they don't have a color printer?

RE: FINAL FILE FORMATS
The brief says "EPS only." But I don't think it gave me a choice to indicate otherwise.

I am expected standard EPS files PLUS jpg files in multiple size/resolution.
If there is both icon and type in the logo I will need 2 sets of files: one with the full logo, and one with the icon alone.

Thanks!

Less than 12 hours to go! Thank you to every artist who has submitted a design - you are each so very talented.

I only expect to be online for a few minutes between now and the time the contest ends so I don't think I'll be updating the rankings or replying to any questions or comments until after the contest ends.

It is a really good thing I have a few days to make the final decision because you have made it very difficult to choose just one option! Thanks!

Diversity Trends,

Please consider ranking the designs rather than eliminating the points we gather are valuable even if we do not win your contest. Also take a moment to review the "Ranking and General Tips" as compiled by one of our designers (Bugy) https://logotournament.com/forum/general_discussion/914
