SPEARHEADLogo Design Contest

I would like to see the spearhead graphic integrated with the name.

The more I see, the more I think I would like to see a formalized / minimalistic black font type, with the color coming from the integrated symbol replacing the "A"s.

Just as an update to all designers, I had a conversation with one of the designers, and I would like to be able to also utilize the "A" portion of SPEARHEAD as a stand alone pictorial. Please take that into consideration while submitting designs. I'll be updating the Logo Design Brief.

Thank you to all of the designers who have submitted designs on day one. I have tried to provide feedback on allot of the designs thus far, and have tried to provide feedback as fast as possible throughout the day. I will be logging off for the evening, and will return either later tonight or tomorrow morning.

I have found that some of the artists have been posting designs with very similar outlines and shapes to the Volcom brand pictorial. (www.volcom.com)

Please refrain from submitting posts that look similar in shape and design to this brand.

If you see your logo moved to the ranked listing, please do not pay attention to the current rankings until the last day. I am only using the ranking section as a place holder for the top designs for a staff survey at the end of each day. After the survey has been completed, I'll provide further feedback on the designs that made it to the ranking section, and update the rankings for the following day.

**Update** Since I would like to utilize the pictorial as a stand alone symbol, please submit your design with the logo and a copy of the pictorial as a stand alone above the logo design.

Since I think that I have seen everything that can be done with a pictorial replacing the first "A" in SPEARHEAD, I have made the following update to the Design Brief.

***IDEA #1***
- First Line: SPEARHEAD
- Second Line: Business Process Outsourcing
- Black Font, with Blue & Green Pictorial replacing the first “A” in SPEARHEAD.
- For pictorial evaluation, please place a copy of the pictorial above the logo design. Pictorial must be able to stand on its own.

***UPDATE & IDEA #2***
- Go Crazy with it. Even though I did not think I would like and/or want any other than what is listed in IDEA #1, I have received some recent submissions that have made me think otherwise. That said, if you have an idea that you think is better than what I listed in IDEA #1, then prove me wrong. That’s why you are designers and I’m here asking you for help - you are the experts.

My goal during this stage is to see all pictorials in different shades of green and blue, and to possibly look at font alternatives.

Out of respect of you and your time, I'll try to make a selection as soon as possible, and if I feel that I prefer a different design over yours, I'll make sure that I let you know so you are not wasting your time efforts.

Please do not worry about the ranking list. I have to add all the logo updates to the ranking list in order for my staff to do a review survey. You will be seeing a lot of logos going in and out based on your number of edits.

Good morning Designers,

The top designs currently sitting within the top 4 on the rankings list have just been sent out for a final staff survey. I should have a winner selected and posted by late morning. (It is currently 6:30am where I am.)

Thank you for all of your continued work. As of today, we have finished our final staff survey and picked the contest winner - Wyn will be taking the contest with #331.

We decided the winner by:
1) surveying the final designs for staff feedback.
2) requesting revisions based on staff feedback from the top designers
3) surveying staff on individual designer's revisions; this allowed us to determine each of the designers "most liked" and/or "best" design.
4) we surveyed staff on the top designers "most liked" / "best" revisions that were chosen in the previous survey.
5) the winner of the last survey was the chosen design and designer.

We hope you understand that we took great time and consideration in making this decision, and that we greatly appreciate all of your time and effort.
