As the name implies, we would obviously like to see many shades of green in the logo. However, it would be an added bonus (although not necessary) if it would also look good in black and white.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please note the extra "e" on the end of "Shades of Greene" , as we are a part of the Gretchen Greene School of Dance. It might be interesting to make the extra "e" standout somehow.

It's very important this is gender neutral: no tutu's or pointe shoes. It should be strong and sporty-- "kick ass", if you don't mind. We do tap, jazz, modern, hip-hop, ballet and more. You can find pictures of the type of dance we do here:
http://www.nycdance.com/gal/2007_srcc2.htm

You can use either "Dance Company" or "Dance Co." which can be much smaller than "Shades of Greene"

We need a logo that will look good in either portrait or landscape so I'm leaning towards a square shaped logo, although that's not set in stone.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions

Hey guys, thanks for all the great designs. Overall, script fonts are looking too feminine and soft, and we are looking for something stronger and more bold. Thanks!

As far as the dancer image/graphic goes, we are leaning more towards the abstracted versions, and not the more literal ones where you can make out more detail (as it means the image can apply to more types of dancing and dancers.) It doesn't have to be stick figures necessarily, though -- I imagine an elegant line drawing could look good too. Thanks for all your hard work.

There are some great designs being turned in! I'd like to keep it going by giving your some more ideas to work with: here are some options for the dancers that haven't been explored yet:

It can be bold and life-like

or more abstract:

And it would be nice to see the dancer design elements integrated into the words.

Just some ideas. Thanks everyone.

Sorry it took so long for a final decision. We had to get the whole office staff together to discuss. After MUCH deliberation we finally came to our decision. It was not unanimous, and I want you to know how impressed we are with your creativity and professionalism. Thank you for your hard work.
