Our Ideas & Additional Information
looking at the scribble logo idea that is attached--- i like representations of plants, homes, gardens and perhaps garden ornaments....like the classic gnome and/or flamingo. Certainly make it less like a child's sketch than it currently is.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ You, the Client, are very important! Your active participation is the single greatest factor influencing this contest. Active participation by you, the Client, helps you get the logo design you want!
~~ What's active participation? It's updating the brief with more information for Designers to work with as the contest progresses, providing feedback to Designers on their entries when they're submitted, and ranking designs at least once a day.
~~ When you provide feedback to Designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Rank designs at least once each day -- this will encourage Designers to submit more entries!
~~ Ranking prevents your contest from going idle! Active contests attract more Designers.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed. Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Please note: if you're asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract Designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked Designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" Designers are the first 5 Designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The Designer of the 1st place design will be the only Designer who can submit revisions at that time.

#1- Thanks for your submission. It looks like what I asked for, but I want something that looks less campy. Perhaps more plants, less garden ornaments...

#2 Thanks so much Hakadu! It is much closer to what I am looking for. The paired down colors really gets it far.

I am afraid my idea of the lawn ornaments is still too big. The plants should be larger and still a little less campy-- representations of trees? Tall grasses, shrubs, even a San Franciscan home?

The font is much better too.

I will be reproducing this to be on the sides of my trucks, on tee-shirts for my crew and on business cards and Websites, So I like that the picture can be separate from the words.

#3 Hakadu! This is getting closer and closer. I like that it has more plants. Particularly, I like style of the tree branch that come over the top. The one thing that I am struggling with is connecting the high-end aspect of my gardening company with the less-stuffy.

I am updating my brief to include a garden rendering of mine. It is a common look for garden design, and if we lean a little toward that look, but include the ornaments...

I do worry that the gnome looks a little like santa clause.

#4 Thanks for joining in! The thing I immediately like about your logo design is that the banner style will look great on the top of my new website. It would be challenging though, to fit it on the door of a truck. Can you explain to me how it works? Will it be possible to just move the words underneath the image in order to better fit it onto things?

I really like the gnome shape. It looks like the garden gnome I am thinking of.

I think that I want the picture to look like a level, 2 dimensional garden, with plants and trees as the centerpiece and the garden ornaments to be an amusing detail.

I'm adding a garden rendering that I made for one of my clients. Perhaps if it looks more like that, it will invoke the idea of "high-end."

Hi Everyone! Thanks for submitting.

Right now, I like the look of #6 the most. I like the spacing of the plants. The font is nice. The colors...I don't think we have that quite right yet.

I would love to see different types of lawn ornaments. I attached a few pictures.

I like the flat line in #6 with the plants and ornaments coming out of it. It is what my logo sketch originally looked like, but I would like the pictures of the plants to look more like garden renderings (like in my attached rendering) with the lawn ornaments drawn within them. If that means that we have to go away from the flat line, I wouldn't mind trying that.

I want it to look like a very simple garden rendering that I might do for a client, if they asked me to incorporate garden ornaments into their yard.

I think it is getting closer, but I am still really trying to get away from the campy look that these represent. I want it to look professional, with a funny element. And I don't want it to be too cute.

I like Nymalba's #7 a bit because I like that there are more plants included with the ornaments secondary.

I don't prefer the daisy-like flower that is in most of the drawings.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate everyone's work.

Thanks everyone for your posts. I have gotten a lot of feedback from friends and people seem to both love and hate the lawn ornament idea...Just to be sure that I am making the right choice, I would love just a couple of options that move away from this...

I am wondering if someone can work on something that is just a representation of a plant a tree or a flower that is simple but has a bit of a vintage vibe to it. The drawings of David Weidman come to mind. but anything with a vintage or midcentury feel might work.

After seeing all the entries, I think that the slogan is a little too long. It makes it hard to read. I want to change it to "Unique Landscapes".

It's not necessary to go through and change any of the others. I just thought I would note it.

I love the way that they are all coming together. I am just going ot get some feedback from my crew... since they will be wearing it on tee-shirts.

Thanks!

So at this point I am just hoping to see how the logos are scalable and be a little bit tweakable to accomodate different layout demands.

Like, what happens if the text runs on the right hand side for my invoices or on the left hand side for my website...

And if the text and or the image can stand alone.

I've never done this before, so any advice as to how to handle these situations is helpful.

Hi Everyone,

I have been sitting and looking and the top 3 and have had a hard time deciding.
I love #1, but feel like a tree alone does not accurately describe what I do.
I like #2, but I really wanted a logo where the image an the text could be separate.
I love #3, but I don't feel like it speaks to my clients.

I am wondering if we can do one more round of drawings. It's up to you if you just want to alter what you have now or if you want to change it to something else. I think that an image, in any of the your styles, of the aeonium head would be gorgeous.

I know that's a little obscure, but its the plant that I use most commonly. I will attach a few pictures.

Thanks! I really appreciate it.
