What We Do
We are an exciting new company that will publish on-line newspapers in major markets around the country that will have the same look and feel of the traditional print editions. Instead of a stale and stagnant newspaper, think of us as the "new media", and instead of a typewriter or even old PC, think of us providing real time news info to someone via an I-Phone or I-Pad or with HTML video.

Red - CMYK = 0 94 89 43
Blue - CMYK = 100 91 0 82
Possibly use gray or silver as an accent, along with white, and
perhaps even two tone letter of red with blue borders.

Dk gray: CMYK = 4 1 0 73
Lt gray: CMYK = 0 0 0 33

No other colors interest us other than red, navy or dark blue and white (plus silver or gray as an accent)
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please see comments left for each designer on Saturday evening for some updates.

The word Resolute is a very powerful word, and we have some ideas such as having a strong, bold and dominant R with smaller M and G or even the words Media Group spelled out. Also, variations of Resolute spelled out with anything from block letters
to cursive. Pick a somewhat modern looking font that portrays a
position of strength - logo can either use a letter or word (R or
Resolute) OR be a symbol that indicates something to do with
media/news. Perhaps our logo is built around an outline of what appears to be a screen, an I-Pad or even I-Phone? Be creative as we are wide open as you can tell!
Idea of new media vs old media. We have decided the microphone is old media. Iphone and Ipad are the new media.

We are a bold and fresh news media organization, so use your creativity and we just might pick one that is creative and out of the box.

We have decided to lose the idea of a microphone as that symbolizes the "old dinosaur media".
We want to look professional and honest and reliable, but definitely want to exude the idea of being the "new media". Please read our edited and updated brief!
Thanks for your efforts!

Great question! We will do reporting the way it was designed to be done, with real sources and without bias. The facts drive the story, and as they say "it is what it is".
We will be agile and nimble in getting news out, but we will not simply do stories based on their sensationalism, but moreover on their relevance and accuracy.
We are a new media company, but in some respects we will be doing media the old fashioned way with honesty and integrity.
Thanks

Please note that we LOVE the font of the R on #45 (currently ranked # 1) and the colors on #45 are awesome, as are the colors on the second ranked entry so far.
Most of the entries do not have a big, bold, or strong enough R to portray our name Resolute in the proper way
Also please always spell media group in lower case and in a different color than RESOLUTE

We like the R to be Red and perhaps a two tone R with red outlined with blue, and if the word RESOLUTE is going to be in red, then media group should be in blue.

We are still trying to see if someone can come up with the perfect MARK that conveys our message, and that can either use the R or not.

We also like the concept of an abstract outline of a screen (screen of an i-phone, i-pad or even PC screen) where someone is reading our online newspapers and the information and news are jumping out at them and ALWAYS going left to RIGHT. This screen does NOT have to be straight but can be angled or showing a side view with the information (or our name) in a sphere of some type, or with a star, or some other design going through the screen from left to right and coming out at the reader. Please be creative!

If you have questions or comments, please do not hesitate to ask. There will likely be more work for the winner on letterhead, business cards and brochures. Please pay attention to the comments left for other entries as that can give you a frame of reference for what we want.

Thanks for all of your efforts!!

Please check out the logo sample I attached. This is just an idea, but the screen does not have to be straight like most have done it, so this abstract screen outline can be turned to be leaning to the right, and have the info or news, or communication, or even our name RESOLUTE coming through the screen from left to right at the viewer or reader. Be creative and see what you can make of this!

Outline of the screen can be in blue and the data in red or our name in red. Always put media group in lower case letters please, and if the word RESOLUTE is in red then media group should be in blue.

Thanks
