What We Do
Ready Set Row – Indoor Training Camp is a six-week indoor summer training camp for high school and college-level rowers (novice and experienced) who are looking to become stronger, faster and tougher through the use of ergs, weight lifting and leadership training.
Industry
Sport
Color Preferences
Black, White little bit of red - but not totally committed to this. Want to demonstrate growth but elicit toughness too.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please see attached document. I want there to be a somewhat abstract character that is erging or demonstrating that he is erging (it is critical that he is not rowing on the water as we are all indoor) and I want him to be androgenous, and be strong and somehow show that he is also training with weights and other x-training to improve strength and power. I also want to show that the athlete will do a lot of self-reflection to figure out who they are, what they want, what drives them and where they want to go... this primarily a leadership camp that uses indoor rowing and weight lifting as the tool to build leaders. These are life skills that they are learning and I would like that to be conveyed somehow since the parents will be most inspired by that... What they learn with us they will take with them for the rest of their life...

So in looking at this- I like the cleaner line better (on the left) and then I think I want just black, white and maybe grey and MAYBE a little bit of red- but looking at this I realize I don't think I want green or yellow. Also, I like the idea of using white- where you actually use black to create the shape in white... if that makes sense? I found this logo and LOVE it- but it's obviously on the water- but I like the style of the rower... and how they use the white space to show the shape. I will upload him onto the original description since I can't seem to paste him in here.

I had made a word doc with some photos and logos that I like and don't like- i didn't see it on the contest here so I uploaded it again in case you all had not seen it. I also put up a few photos- these are other shots that will be clear to rowers that they are on the indoor ergometer.... blurry to show that it is fast, tough, a great workout etc... so it's possible you could use the hands and handle, the chain, the legs and bodies moving together etc.

So the "ROW" of the name is the most important word- and if some how the O of ROW can be part of the chain that the guy is rowing on- that would be awesome. The logo could even be just hands on handles with the chains... see a photo that I uploaded of this.. we just have to make sure no one thinks this is rowing outside on water.
And I think i like it 90% black; 10% grey/red

I would like to see some interpretations of the hands and handle as the logo - really strong/ripped forearms, hands that are holding onto the handle with the fingers and the chain... anyone have any ideas about this?

Can we get some other artists involved in this? None of these are right- would like to see some more ideas. Less color- more black, a bit harder or tougher, and more androgynous. "ready set row" needs to be clear and legible.

I just updated the information on here- I want to make sure that this is simple but clear - shows strength and growth and MOST IMPORTANTLY INDOOR rowing training- they cannot think this is on the water. I uploaded another rendering of a rower on an ergometer- please see this for drawing an androgynous but tough/strong and clear rower on the machine. The athlete in the logo is critical to get correct.

Team- I just posted a sketch I have done- please look at it- ROW needs to be the main word- and I need to make sure the chain is clear... take a look.

I uploaded another sketch that I would like for you all to consider- none of these are quite right and trying to get a few more designs on the table...

Would you guys remove the "Camp" from the "Indoor Training Camp" - have it just say "Indoor Training"

Team- none of these hands/forearms are correct. I really like how the forearms can demonstrate power and grit (I think that gets lost with just fingertips) but none of the hands/forearms are correct. I would like for them to be edgier and a bit more abstract (not whimsical though at all). I have attached a drawing that i did- this is BAD but you get the idea of the type of forearms/hands that I want... I think?
