Color Preferences
Logo to be set against a white background. Colors we like are black, gray, red, green and brown, but we are open to other colors. Overall we’d like a simple color palette consisting of black and one or two more colors or various shades of a color. We need something that will look clean when it is copied in black and white as well, since the logo will be used frequently on landscape plans.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The company name, R and R, originates from our last names, Robbins and Robbins. We like how it plays off the phrase “Rest and Relaxation”, as well, but we would rather that be implied vs. incorporated into the design concept. With regards to the text we would, however, like to see different options for the “and” between the R’s.

We would also like the logo to incorporate an icon into the design. We are interested in seeing options with the icon integrated into the text and options with the icon apart from the text. As far as the actual object for the icon to be, we are torn and would like to see your vision. However, certain more obvious icons such as a leaf, flower, tree, shrub, etc. would require a very unique execution. Whatever icon you play with, we would like to stay modern and minimal in our approach with an organic flair and are not interested in cartoon style or overly realistic illustrated style.

Our company provides services primarily for private high end residential clients, but we’d like the logo to be able to grow with us as we foresee possible expansion into other areas of landscape architecture. (Such as urban planning, city and regional parks, developments, etc.)

In general we favor a simple style…clean lines, something that can be read and understood at a glance while maintaining visual interest. We’d also like the logo to reflect nature, design and creation.

Hopefully that’s enough information to give you some direction without being too restrictive. We are just beginning our practice and your design will help shape our company’s identity. Ultimately, there is nothing specific that we have in mind for the logo and we’re excited to see what you come up with.

Thanks for all of your entries! Two general comments…We really want an icon or image incorporated into the design. We also want the design to be clean but not quite so simple. Thanks.

Should I rank all the various alternatives of one design or is it ok to rank the one I like the most and leave the others marked “unranked”? I know it is important to the Designers that they are ranked and I’d like to be as accommodating to that as I can. Thanks.

We’ve been seeing a lot of designs where the R’s are used as the trunk and our concern is the company name is too difficult to read. We need R&R to be clear and easily deciphered.

Rank the ones you like and mark the other ones "not interested" that way you have a nice clean contest going and designers can get a feel for your style. ;)
