What We Do
"PS Mod House" is an architecturally significant mid-century modern private home in Palm Springs, California that provides guests with a modern and sophisticated taste of the stylish, carefree and retro Palm Springs lifestyle.

Color Preferences
The colors we are most interested in to represent Palm Springs and our property are: orange, navy or soft blue, yellow, white, sage green and hot pink (see photos of our property).
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Here is a link to our property: http://www.vrbo.com/450421

The most significant thing about our property is that it has a "long butterfly" roofline. Here are some photos of the type of "iconic" roofline that our property has. All of the properties on this link are in our neighborhood. The first black and white photo is a famous photo of the exact model of the house we own (and rent), for which we seek a logo. We would love a logo that incorporates the unique roofline in a not-too-obvious way, but we are also open to simple fun graphics (like the Paul Kaplan logo below):

Here are some logos that we like:

Fun and very "Palm Springs" -- Paul Kaplan: http://www.paulkaplanrealtor.com/

Like the architectural outlines of the various rooflines depicted in the graphics on top of the page (our roofline is the second to last), but logo must be simple and hip: http://www.racquetclubestates.com/

Also like the architectural aspect of the "Palm Springs Modernism Committee" logo (link not working right now), but too serious for our vacation rental

Recommend typing "Palm Springs mid-century modern" in google images to get an idea of the unique style/vibe/colors of our market.

We plan to use the logo on business cards, website and possibly welcome doormate, foam rafts and retron "beach cruiser" style orange or yellow bikes, so logo should convey style, fun, retro Palm Springs, but still be simple enough to use on doormat, raft, bike.

Designers -- Thank you for your entries thus far. We really like the colors, sophistication and typeface on designs #10 and #9. However, we are interested in a graphic that is a little more indicative of fun/vacation (without losing the sophistication / modern look). We like the idea of incorporating the signature "elongated butterfly" roofline into the logo, but it's not required. #17 depicts the roofline perfectly -- it is an elongated butterfly, which means it dips in the middle of the house, juts up on both sides and comes back down. We also like the graphic on entry #29 because it is suggestive of the roofline (without being a literal drawing of the roof), but also has a retro mid-century feel. We like the simplicity of #33 -- the logo will be used on the welcome mat, foam rafts and possibly on the chain guard of our beach cruiser bikes, so we like the idea of something simple. Also, please note that we prefer all caps because "Mod House" looks like "Mad House" unless it is in all caps. Thank you and we look forward to seeing more designs!

Designers, in addition to the comments above, we are interested in logos that include typical mid-century modern symbols/fonts etc., even if the logo does not incorporate the roofline (e.g., sunbursts, waves, argyle, astro-type symbols etc.). This is a unique house in a unique city and we are looking for a unique logo that represents it well. Here are some examples of the type of mid-century elements we are referring to:

See the font on the promotional features in the center of this website (not necessarily the logo itself): thrivefurniture.com

Designers -- please do not claim that designs are too similar to yours because they use an abstract butterfly roofline image. We specifically requested such designs in our brief, and they are obvious. Therefore, we do not feel that any designer has the right to claim that concept as their own.
