Protea Valley ChurchLogo Design Contest

With regards to the text 'Protea Valley Church', the 'Protea Valley' is used more as one word (in fact in other local language it is one word) rather than 'Protea' and then 'Valley Church'

Some good stuff coming through. I'd like to keep away from buildings in the logo because it is really the people that are the church.

Thanks for all the submissions so far, all bringing in something interesting.

I am definitely liking the simple logos people are designing more than complex ones. I'd like the logo to be able to stand on it's own and be recognizable as a Christian symbol to that end the cross and simplicity are winners.

I'd like the logo to display a sense of warmth and welcoming more than some of the current entries are. I also think that some of the designs are a little too 'formal' or 'corporate'

Hi, I am Gary, also part of the Protea Valley Church review team.
The rustic wooden cross is central to us. I have posted a link to the actual cross which hangs on our front wall in the church.
Also on the cross is the crown of thorns.
I have placed a green plant at the foot of the cross trying to represent new growth, new life.
Have a look at the photo, it may inspire some new directions.

Everyone seems to be heading towards circular logos. whilst I am not against them I'd be interested in seeing some other directions.
