Color Preferences
The site contains a lot of blue and grey (see attached image) so it would be nice to see the logo introduce a new color or two yet if need be incorporate elements of blue/grey to match the theme of the site. But I will leave it up to you.

Suggestion:
Green (We do enjoy how green blends with the current shades of grey and blue)
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Please take a look at the attached mock up image as it gives a reference point on the look of site. Do note that we can edit the shade of the blue used in the site to match your desired shade of blue.

Hi! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

To give you a better idea on what the word scoop can mean and what it means in the logo I'll post a definition.

To get an exclusive on a story or review, or to publish a story before another source has had an opportunity to do so.

Hypernyms ("scoop" is a kind of like...):

account; news report; report; story; write up

We look at it as gathering the "scoop" on the product or as in researching related news, reviews and hype about that product and distilling it down to an easy to read review or preview.

We'd like to convey what we do quickly to the visitor with the logo/graphic. Nothing abstract.

Please note I don't want to stifle your creativity with any of the the below ideas, just to convey some thoughts that might resonate.

Ideas:

Communicate the "scoop" part of the word and play up the chatting, or bubble icons or the passing on of the review. To invoke the inside scoop on reviews from us to our audience.

Concepts like a clipboard with items marked off come to mind.

A piece of paper covering a folder that has a title and then a checklist or pros and cons on written on it.

Another concept that might be fitting would be the act of someone communicating the "scoop" (news, report, story) to the visitor. Simple graphic of a reporter with a notepad giving you the scoop.

Newspaper graphic delivering a headline, then maybe it has a product box included somewhere in it to convey a product or perhaps a letter grade (B+) circled. Playing off the idea that newspaper often deliver the scoop on a story or report.
