Our Ideas & Additional Information
One difficulty we have with our name is that it is close to Pixar, and 'pixel' obviously relates to digital graphics. We kind of like the new economy feel of the latter, but want to avoid too much, well, pixelated stuff. 80's atari-style fonts are not good, nor are obvious derivations of the pixar logo (which is great, by the way, we just don't want to confuse things by looking like them). Also, we think we would like to include "PI Experiential Learning" in there - much smaller than the "PIXL" name, but there nonetheless to help make it more clear what we're about.
Here is information on our business and program:
The PI Experiential Learning Program uses a series of analytical tools coupled with a sophisticated Business Simulation to help participants learn about themselves, how they work with others, and how they can grow as members of a team.
During each phase of the program we ask questions to gather information, assess interactions, and measure performance. These questions provide data for detailed analysis, enabling us to provide specific feedback to participants and helping them develop their own plan for personal growth. We use the data collected to conduct research which in turn helps us continually improve our understanding of leadership and teams, which we use to make our program even more effective.
Students will leave the PI Experience with a heightened sense of self awareness; equipped with a set of tools to help them manage teamwork throughout their careers.
In the program we use "PI" as shorthand for:
Personal introspection - we collect information not just on how participants perceive their own working style, but how others perceive them; comparing the two improves self-awareness
Productive interactions - we give instruction on how different personality types and work styles interact, as well as on ways to improve team dynamics and performance
Professional integration - we use a team-based business simulation experience to provide opportunities for participants to try out what they learn in the classroom in a real team environment; this gives participants practice so that they can better integrate what they learn into their actual behavior
Performance improvement - what participants learn in the program leads to measurable performance improvement
