Our goal is to make a political statement against organizations, in particular the Pittsburgh Pirates (a major league baseball team), that continue to disappoint supporters, and refuse to give back to their fans and community; while at the same time netting millions of dollars in profits.

Top Three Things to Communicate
#1 - "Pittsburgh Prospects" baseball
#2 - glorified minor league baseball team
#3 - losing tradition since 1992
Our Target Audience:
Any sports fan (man, woman or child of any occcupation, education or income) who has become accustomed to a winning tradition and is disgusted by sports organizations that refuse to give back to their communities by not (at the very least) attempting to put together a competitive team. In particular, any Pittsburgh-based sports fan who would like to speak out against the Pittsburgh Pirates major league baseball organization.
Color Preferences
Black, gold and white.
Our Ideas and Additional Information:
"Pittsburgh Prospects" in the traditional Pittsburgh Pirates font, with "est. 1992" written underneath.
Below is a link to the official Pittsburgh Pirates homepage, for which the satirical Pittsburgh Prospects logo should be based upon:
#1: the logo is a little too simple; not sure that the slogan needs to be included in its entirety; the color scheme is good; the font should more closely resemble the Pittsburgh Pirates font. #2: the addition of a pirate is a good idea; the color scheme isn't quite right (it should be more yellow than gold); the "est. 1992" is good, but not placed correctly; the font used for "Prospects" should more closely resemble the Pittsburgh Pirates font.
Overall, the logo should look more like a fluid logo (one entity), rather than words and a slogan, or words and a picture... if that makes sense. Also, it is important that the font closely resembles the Pittsburgh Pirates font. Thanks.

as a 'burgher, born and raised, i can honestly say at this point i loathe the pirates organization. i support what you're trying to do. they've become a blemish on the city of champions... good luck!
Genesis, we appreciate the support. Got any good logo ideas that you might want to thrown our way? We would like to broadbast our message on as many tee-shirts as possible, in the best manner possible, reaching as many people as possible.
The one thing that I can't stress enough is that the public should look at the logo from a distance (or at first glance) and think its a Pittsburgh Pirates logo... then upon closer examination realize it says "Prospects" instead of "Pirates." I think that the font is critical. Thanks.
It might be wise to only slightly change the logos, but keep the basic properties... we want people to think these are Pittsburgh Pirate logos with the word "Pirates" replaced with "Prospects."
I have Placed a Temp Hold on the designs which are a direct copy of the "Pirates Logo" Until such time a verdict and licensing issues can be resolved...Our apologies for this interruption in the Judging Phase of the contest.
The logos you have put a hold on are not direct copies but various interpretations on the original as requested in the brief. I think putting a hold on them after judging began is absolutely outrageous.
