While this is our first contest, we've read about how the communication and feedback work and will provide feedback on your design and highly rank unique designs from different designers, not just variations from a single design we like. Just wanted to clarify a bit of what our farm is like to help give a better picture of what we're hoping to represent:
Our farm is approx. 3 acres of which quite a bit is wooded. The property is historic in that the house was built in the 1830s by a pioneer farmer and is the first frame house in our city. It is up on a hill and while there are corn/soy fields across the street, our farm is not as wide open. We will be a diversified farm, focusing on space efficient products and intensive methods. We have chickens for eggs and meat, a number of beehives, and we will also be producing maple syrup and vegetables, expanding to include berries in the next several years.

It is important to us that a representation of our house be included in the design, and I think a tree or more as well. It would be a bonus if vegetables/growing plants, chickens &/or bees/beehives could be included but are not essential.

We hope to pick a design that will reflect the tradition/history of the property in its style as well as a sense of fresh growth - a sense of being rooted while having some movement/new growth. The movement of #4 is great as well as its simplicity. The reds, greens and golden yellows that have been used in a number of the designs so far are great as well.
