Hi mbeccati please can you explain the rationale behind the image you supplied, it will help us design a better logo for you.

Hi Brendan,

that's just the old logo uploaded for reference: we don't think it fits anymore the brand purpose and that's the reason why we want to change. Maybe it was ok when we started organizing the conference as a group of geeks, but now that we've raised the bar and the conference level grew along with its audience the old logo just looks old and unprofessional.

Alas, funny animals and creatures do not properly match the playful/serious preference.

Yes a bit but do you still want to go the animal route at all what was the connection or was it just random.

The animal picked in the old logo was totally random. By no means that implies that new logo designs should use an animal. I will update the contest brief to reflect that.

Thanks everyone for their submissions. I'm sorry for the delay, but the last days have been and are rather hectic. That's also why I had to extend the contest length.

I've now ranked the recent entries and will add some comments tomorrow.
