Personal Logo - Wine RelatedLogo Design Contest

We need to be careful here to have Nintendo's permission to use the Registered Trademark "Wii" with reference to branding a company.

Hi all! thanks so much for the submissions. I'll comment on each to help out....

Melisari:
# 1 : Like the concept of the remote being the bottle. I'd like to see the lettering larger though. this is my favorite of yours.
# 3 : Too plain... i do think we need a graphic incorporated somehow
# 4 : My second favorite of yours.

Ncdesign:
# 5 : I like it, but I'm wondering if we can do something else with the graphic. It's hard to really get that the crossing of the two is a "+". Maybe work it a bit more? Maybe alos put a spilt glass of red wine there and an "&" after "wine", or something along those lines?

Hi Orion: This won't be used for any business purposes, so we wouldn't need permission. But, we should put a trademark symbol "TM" next to Wii.

Thanks for todays submissions! we've got a few new designers so I want to compare them to everyone else so far, do some rankings, and make some comments that might hep you get to #1!

#7: As mentioned yesterday, I'd love to see this with red wine instead of pink. I'm guessing you haven't logged in.

#1 : Not sure if you've checked in either, but a few days ago I asked if you could make the "wine and wii" wording larger. Liked the concept.

#15-17 : thanks for the improvements. Like them, but the small wine bottle pouring the wine throws me off. I wonder if we can experiment with that a bit. Maybe forget the bottle and make a larger wine puddle. I think people will get it.

#19: Welcome SamJones! Love it. I like the font better than #18.

#21 : Very cool. At first though, I thought it was an alien. then I figured out it was a Mii. Can you make him look a little more "mii-ish"? I think it's the head throwing me off. Oh, and I like the Mii between the words better than above like in #20.

#24 : another new entry by plug& play. Love these a as well. 24 is more attractive than the others. Can you try making the wine bottles in "wii" remote controls? Or, make the "i" in wine a wine bottle, or combinations? I think you're on to something. Like the other designs too, but this on stands out!

#19: Also by plug& play. Like this too... just the way it is. but not sure I like it better than the other concepts.

Keep it up guys / gals! Glad to have you around! this inspires me to do more prjects that need logos. I've found the perfect place to get them done!

#21 : looking at the Miii again. Maybe separate the circle hands from the character a bit? If this is an obvious Mii it might work great!

just so you know you can individually comment designers by clicking their names under the designs on this page. doing it this way makes it alot easier for us as we dont have to look through all the info to find the advice intended for us.

Meanwhile, will adjust rankings too. If you fall down in rankings it's not because I don't like what you've done, but maybe I'm waiting on a version change that you haven't responded to.

Man.... this ranking is getting tough!!! Almost everyone got back comments today. Will check in again in the morning and give even more feedback. If you can post a version of your design in white lettering on a black background too, that'd help out!

So these are getting better and better!

I like some of the concepts behind the newer posts, but to give new submitters some additional guidelines, try to keep it pretty simple and clean. I'm concerned about printing so max 3-colors and graphics that aren't complicated to print are key.

I really do think I might print some images on black too, so designs that could easily be switched out to appear on black or white backgrounds are preferred too.

I'd LOVE to see new designs by new designers, so please submit... there's still time! While I like some of them up there already, there's no way to tell if I'll like yours better until you create it and post it! :)

this was posted in a different contest but it pretty much applies to all of them, if you could have a read that would be greatly appreciated by not only me but all the designers here.

"How are you doing ? hope you are doing great. As this contest is about to come to an end, and you will be chosing the best new logo for your company, i just wanted to have your attention to some important point that you might be aware of or might not. I hope i am not miss understood by pointing out this to you and that you understand.

When the contest ends and you have made your mind and desicion about the winner logo, the winner gets the 1st place, but the 2nd and 3rd place and going on forward, 4th, 5th, 6th , etc , each one or slot should be filled with a seperate designer and different concept you found second best, third best to follow etc.

This helps towards us designers ranking and also it is a way from you to show your appreciation to the hard effort and trails put from the beginning by one designer or appreciating a nice design concept put earlier by a designer that led to developing on right direction for others and you getting the best you could at the end.

It feels frasturating for other designers and pointless of giving all the top rankings for same winner designer, while those were just a small variations of the winning design and therefore the other places 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc are not filled with different designs from a different designer.

So i hope you understood my point i was just trying to point out to you here and all the best of luck in chosing your winner logo, there are really good ones out there.

Hey Kareem (and others):

Yep... someone pointed that out in the forums to me. The LT people should make this clear to contest holders!! I really had no idea how the end of this works and what it meant to you guys until Lindsey posted it in the forum.

There's enough great designs here to keep my top rankings with different designers and I'm hoping to get even more new designers come in (and maybe even win it!)
