What We Do
Looking for a distinctive new logo for my fantasy worldbuilding brand called Pen & Blade.
Needs to include a full sized logo with the words Pen & Blade, but also something that looks good/readable in a small circle (such as a YouTube or Instagram profile pic). This could be a simplified version with just the letters “P & B” or even a purely graphical representation (presumably of a sword and pen/pencil).
So to be clear, I’d like one full-sized logo that says “Pen & Blade” AND one alternative version that looks good in a small circle for YouTube and Instagram
Also, if you can add a favicon version that would be an awesome added bonus! (but not required)

I’m not sharing the original logo here because, while I don’t dislike it, I want to see some new ideas and am open to going for something completely fresh. That being said, I’m going to go with the most epic design whether it’s a redesign or not so I leave that up to you!

Technical notes:
- would like the logo to be a vector (preferred) or very high res (at least 5000px on the shortest side)
- would like the images in all these file formats please: psd, ai (if applicable), eps, svg, and png (transparent bg)

Color Preferences
Would like to see what you think is best.
Original color scheme is a yellow-red-purple gradient, which does appeal to me... but I'm open to new ideas. Would be great to see a couple different color options of the same design.

Our Ideas & Additional Information
Think Sword & Sorcery like Dungeons & Dragons, Lord of the Rings, Conan the Barbarian, and World of Warcraft (leaning more towards WoW than LotR) to get the general vibe.
You could also draw inspiration from anything else in the fantasy genre.
Note: The "Visual Inspiration" examples aren't really very representative of what I'm looking for, but they're the best I could find in Logo Tournament's library.

I included some references for the sword to give an idea of what I like if a sword is included in the logo (which is probably preferred--but I'd go with a clean, readable logo without a sword over a super busy one with a sword).

- crossguard examples -- pretty simple but with a little bit of style to them
- gem examples - a gemstone or two can be cool :]

I know it's called PEN & Blade, but a pencil would be fine instead of a pen. In fact I think it might be more fitting and visually interesting, but if you can get a pen to work--great! Not a huge fan of the idea of a fountain pen though (even though that's probably the most visually interesting)... A quill also might be a bit much, haha.
