What We Do
Owlio is an discount real estate search engine located at www.owlio.com. The site is consumer facing and allows visitors to search 4,000,000 listings and then analyzes each listing for discount by running it through an automated valuation engine.

Owlio is very similar to Zillow.com and Trulia.com
Industry
Real Estate
Color Preferences
The color palette for the website must incorporate a web 2.0 look and we have a preference for blue. Because this is a real estate site there is the opportunity to blend a color transition from a more vibrant web 2.0 feel to a "serious" midnight blue.

We need to be 2.0 cool but real estate trustworthy.

The website color palette will have a blue color transition with one additional vibrant color(tbd)
Our Ideas & Additional Information
You must incorporate an owl into the logo. We will use the owl in much the same way that GEICO uses the Gecko.

The name Owlio allows you to play around with ideas like incorporating the owl into the letter O, use the first and last O as eyes etc.

The owl must be forward facing and include two round eyes.

The owl must be wise but friendly and not look sinister (like some owls do).

We want to portray wisdom, good luck, forward looking and even nocturnal (like an owl working at night while you sleep).

There needs to be a balance between the serious world of real estate and the cool of web 2.0. the logo needs to be elegant / professional but still cool.

A lkogo designer I like for professional / elegant is www.helveticbrands.ch

I loaded a series of owl images at www.owlio.net/design. I have no preferences but you might draw inspiration from one of the designs.

Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank and re-rank a variety of designs to get a variety of new entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Ranking designs daily will also keep your contest from getting cluttered.
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you are going to see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested"
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Ranking is a non-monitary means of showing apprecaition for designers hard work.
~~ Designers earn points for ranked designs. We like to earn points.

The piece that I feel is missing from the designs is a more professional image as you would expect from a real estate company. Most of the logo's are more cool than professional and I need a better balance. Don't be afraid to deviate from the cool blue colors and experiment with other "real estate" colors.

One designer that I really liked for a professional image is www.helveticbrands.ch (not on this site)

One last point is that the owl was be clearly distinguishable as an owl.
