Well - it's Saturday and our contest closes on Monday around noon central time. At this point we are going to meet and discuss our top twenty favorites and begin to narrow those down by asking some of our clients for their opinions - after all, it's us we are reflecting and them we are attracting. Yes? Our feedback will be spent working with those designers in the top 20 - if we need to extend the contest, we will. While we love so much of all of it, we still haven't gotten that - holy cow that is SO it factor. At this point, I'm uncertain if that's even a plausible concept. We knew it when we landed on the name tho. We are now using words like timelessness, or does it mimic someone else's logo too closely or cause a confusion in trademarking, will it look good in black and white in workbooks for professionals, does the logo bug separate well and will it be useful without our name in a variety of ways. Are the colors trendy enough to cause us to pause? Why is it the designers are telling us all small letters versus our original OnPointe version, what are we learning, loving and leaning in to? What are we resisting - that I know... I can tell you that the OP or P1 kinds of things aren't us. Ocean Pacific and P1 gives us shades of pee 1 (a whole nuther story about that). Some of the compasses remind us of Chrysler, Mercedes, martial arts stars, clocks or half empty gas gauges. Alot of the font choices strike us as too full, too chubby, kerning toooo close together also jogs our eyes and causes pausing of hmm, nope. We've liked the blues, blacks, greens, cranberry reds and oranges. We trend towards cooler tones with warmer toned accents. I've already told you about the sans serif v serif fonts so I won't blather that again. There is a boldness some of us like and yet another likes the creative more flowing elements. We truly do "get" all of them up here - you are excellent graphic communicators - now it's just matching your communication with what we truly believe ours is, that will extend and brand us and be useful in the many ways our name and bug show up in the world. We will be going after some very large international corporations to present our work so having a sterling top notch image of OnPointe is something we are really seeking. Thank you to each of you for your submissions, we'll go in to our pow wow session soon and post that information. As I understand it, if we leave you ranked rather than tossing it in to the not interested pile, it serves you better for your future contests, so we will keep everything as ranked if that's good for you. It's not too late to submit any new concepts you might have - we will remain open throughout the process - until we select one, it truly is anybody's game. Our best to you!
