Color Preferences
Blue as a main color - We would like a blue that is fresh, new, inspiring, and engaging - like a medium sky blue or similar (not dark blue or turquoise, not purple-y blue, not web 2.0).
A complimentary color like a yellow, green or orange (but not too light (i.e. certain yellow - we'd like the color visible enough so that it could stand out as a font color on white paper if needed in the future).
Possibly some white or gray.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
Currently we use the seed of life (which stands for the point of transition into possibility) - We would like to retain this image in an abstract way. Right now this element is too thin (and washed out) and doesn't present as powerfully as it can. So we would like try more bold by "color blocking" some sections and making a pattern (perhaps two colors). We will include some examples (in the files "seedoflife" - we particularly like "A" but are open to any seed of life variations). Other than the "seed" element, we would like an entirely new look. We are open to receiving logos without the "seed of life" too but we would like to focus on the possibility of incorporating it.

We would like the tag line include in the logo - "Nutrition for Autism, ADHD, and Healthy Children."

You can see everything at Nourishinghope.com.
Included in uploaded files - the cover for our book, seed of life.

Blue color suggestions. We’ve included some that we would like to see to give you a sense. We don’t like turquoise. From http://www.seducingwithstyle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/shades-of-blue22.jpg
We like these for some inspiration: Azure, Brandeis, Royal blue, Cerulean blue. Egyptian and ultramarine blue are too dark.
We also like High sky and Afternoon sky: http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/334208/Deep_Skyblues
We like this palate for inspiration: particularly the two blues and med orange #4). http://www.colourlovers.com/palette/1511210/pinocchio_story

We’d love to see a few variations where the word “Nutrition” is brought forward (maybe pulling it visually out of the tagline) so it stands out. A bit of “playing with words” where your “eye is grabbing” - “Nourishing Hope Nutrition” (with the rest reading, “For autism, ADHD”) AND would read “Nutrition for Autism…”

Keep in mind our business is not named “Nourishing Hope Nutrition” so the “nutrition” would likely be stylized/sized smaller than the Nourishing Hope but differ from the “For Autism, ADHD.”

We though it might be helpful to share our inspirations for using the color blue. The image of a nourishing hope girl has been our "iconic" imagery since 2005 - the blowing of the dandelion activates the seed of life - it is the moment we choose nourishing hope, and all things become possible. The blue sky, the contrasts it provokes and calmness it eludes have been strong attractors for us - they evoke hope. Without including the girl, we dream that our new logo will elicit a feeling of connectedness and infinite possibility when it is observed, felt, and comprehended by the observer. We are open to your creative interpretation of "that" color blue.

Logo Designer
Hello! Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ You, the Client, are very important! Your active participation is the single greatest factor influencing this contest. Active participation by you, the Client, helps you get the logo design you want!
~~ What's active participation? It's updating the brief with more information for Designers to work with as the contest progresses, providing feedback to Designers on their entries when they're submitted, and ranking designs at least once a day.
~~ When you provide feedback to Designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Rank designs at least once each day -- this will encourage Designers to submit more entries!
~~ Ranking prevents your contest from going idle! Active contests attract more Designers.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed. Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Please note: if you're asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract Designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked Designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" Designers are the first 5 Designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The Designer of the 1st place design will be the only Designer who can submit revisions at that time.

More regarding the word “Nutrition.” We’re interested to see how specialized attention can be brought to it, but do not want to separate it too much from the rest of the tagline. It’s important that the tagline be a continuous thought “Nutrition for Autism, ADHD, and Healthy Children.”

Also, we prefer title case (rather than all caps) for Nourishing Hope. If this inspires any new variations, we'd enjoy seeing them. Thanks.

Please note that if you are inspired by "Nourishing Hope" to create something that does not contain the seed of life, we are open to that as well.

Thank you everyone for tremendous inspiration. We are very much leaning toward a design that DOES utilize the underlying geometry of the seed of life. Many designs have been submitted with varied use of color, outlining, etc. (you decide which lines/sections/colors appear), that do line up with the inherent seed geometry.
