Nerd of God is a new technology blog for Christians (offering a secondary appeal to tech fans in general) focusing on technology and its application to ministry and life. While encompassing a broad range of tech products and services, it will offer a strong Apple-centric vibe.

I'm open to most color elements. I want a logo that works well on most backgrounds, but especially white and gray.

Our Ideas & Additional Information

I have included the original logo for Nerd of God. It's not awful, but it lacks distinction. It doesn't pop. It's too cluttered looking. I don't really like the color mix. It just doesn't stand out from the crowd. I want something that identifies well the tech/nerd and "religious" elements portrayed in the byline Technology. Ministry. Life. But, the byline does not necessarily need to be part of the logo.

I will leave more specific feedback later today, but on the initial logo designs, there are a couple of points I want to make now. First, I prefer the more horizontal layouts as in #7, #8 and #9. I also prefer the darker text for "Nerd of God" in #1, #5, #6, #7 and #8 over the blue text in #9, #10 and #11. A more simple and stylistic approach is definitely preferred. So far, though, I'm not ready to rank the existing submissions as they are not close enough to what I'm looking for yet.

It looks like we're starting to make some good progress here now with some cleaner, bolder logos. However, I would like to see some additional logos with colors other than blue as the primary color. I would like to see different ideas for the image part of the logo, too.

Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ Rank designs daily -- this will encourage participation.
~~ Rank a variety of designs to get a variety of entries.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed! Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ LEAVE PRIVATE FEEDBACK BY CLICKING ON A DESIGN. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion
~~ The more feedback you provide, the better results you will see.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested".
~~ Over-use of "Not Interested" discourages participation.
~~ Designers earn points for designs ranked 1st - 10th. We like to earn points.
~~ After the Open Phase ends, you can then rank Top 5 Designers in order for them to upload their revised/new logo designs.
~~ After your contest closes it will enter Judging phase. You can re-rank designs in Judging.
~~ While in Judging, the designer ranked in first place can submit revisions
