Color Preferences
Preference is toward rich colors and modest 3D effects.

Rich 'blues' with either gold or red/white accents are appealing. Logo will be placed on different background colors so the logo background itself should be transparent.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
"Medallurgy" literally refers to the process of making 'MEDALS' that are given to the winners of races, etc. The company concept is that we make winners in business, or business medalists, if you will. One idea is to stylistically and subtly incorporate the concept of a 'medal' into the logo design. Designers are encouraged, however, to creatively explore this brief and develop the best concepts.

Brand personality: "Medallurgy is confident and strong while possessing a work ethic and dedication that is second to none that enables truly superior results. Medallurgy is also somewhat understated, preferring to let results speak for themselves. Companies and marketing organizations breathe a sigh of relief when Medallurgy is engaged to help them navigate through a cloud of business issues."

Hi rOsh... I posted some feedback on the logo. Please click the logo and see my comments. Basically I like how the 'd' seems to be hanging from the 'M' like a medal, and think it would be even better if the 'd' were more metallic looking, like gold, and the hanging medal effect were more prominent. I'm not totally sure that I will want a logo that is the full name of the company, but the hanging medal element is pretty interesting. Another concept to consider is to use the 'M' and to hang a gold tone globe or other symbol from the center of the 'M'. I definitely would like to see more of a 3D effect as well. Those are my thoughts. Thanks rOsh.

Regarding #6... I would like this design even better if the medal had an even stronger metallic or chromatic appearance. One example is http://www.slicktutorials.com/ps/chrome/10.gif This is just an example though and I definitely leave it to the creative experts' judgment to suggest the best approach. Additionally, I'd like to see more of an embossed effect on the medal, as if it were stamped out of gold, to see how that might work with the design. Lastly, I'm curious how the word 'Medallurgy' would look if it too were metal (black metal?) or perhaps a bit more prominent. I am least certain about this last comment so it is more of a speculation than a suggestion. It may just be too much metal if we did that.

Overall, this is a clean design, serious, and strong... all things consistent with our brand.

Regarding #15... this is a very clever design. Similar to my previous comments, I'd like it even better if the large "M" and the gold medal had more of a realistic metallic (chromatic?) effect. The color choice is very good.

I would also suggest playing with a few different fonts, particularly for the large "M" that has the medal incorporated into it to see how font style effects the look and feel.

Regarding #9... definitely intriguing. I like the metallic effect in the lettering. I'm wondering if the lettering could be even more bold. I'd also work with a few different fonts to see how the font style effects look and feel. Modern is good, but serious, business, strong, and trusted are all elements I want to draw out. And design #6 makes me wonder how design #9 would look with a strong black metal effect.

Regarding #13... this design is intriguing because it most strongly creates the look as if it were stamped in metal. I definitely lie the EMBOSSING effect where it has come in to play with this and other designs.

Regarding #12... definitely cool idea here. I don't understand why there are 2 M's in the medal though. I find that a bit distracting. Same with the leaves/laurels on the medal and around the medal. Still though, neat approach. Please consider the other comments above and integrate them into your design.

Thank you to everyone for this great effort. I realized that you may wish to see my current logo since that may trigger a few thoughts. The logo and site were set up as a temporary fix. The brand, the logo, and the website are all under full redesign. The logo we go with will be fully integrated into the site and all our branded materials.

Here is an example of the current logo... http://www.medallurgy.com/

Thanks again.

#34... interesting take here rOsh. Can you show me an iteration with more of a metallic and 3D effect on both the letters and gold medal? Thank you!

Regarding #47... I'd like to see this design with 'Medallurgy' in black and with the medal having more of an embossed and metallic look. This is definitely interesting, but the "M" in the medal is difficult to see. Thanks.

Regarding #23... this is very nice. I'd like to see a version with black text that is a bit more bold as well. Thanks.

Regarding #49... I think all the text from the company name takes away from this very cool design. Can you remove the 'edallurgy' text and suspend a gold medal from ribbon in the 'M'. I think that would simplify it.

Regarding #49... adding to my previous comment, I'd also like to see how a font with serifs works in addition to the other things I suggested. Thanks!

Regarding #51... I'd like to see this design with the blue text and images replaced with black. Also, the medal appears to be a bit blurred, and would be better if it were a bit more defined. Thanks!

Regarding #52, there is a letter missing. The "U" got lost in the process. : )

Regarding #47... also, I'd like to see the medal to the left of the text "Medallurgy", for a more linear look. Thanks.

Regarding #15... lots of positive feedback on this design from internal sources. We'd like it better if the serif's were toned down some and the red, white, and blue of the ribbon holding the medal were more balanced in size.

Regarding #61... I'd like to see the text and the body image be matched so that both are black. Thanks!

Regarding #68... I'd like to see this design with more contrast, darker blacks, and the yellow elements appearing to be more like metallic gold. Thanks.

See above, Sam. I referenced #68, which I believe is one of your designs. Thanks.

Regarding #77... I really like this. Can you show me this design, same colors, and font size, only using the more modern font that you used in #23? I think that might just do it. Thanks!
