What We Do
This contest is to create a wedding logo design. The couple are mid-20's, HENRY - one from the Northeast, one from Midwest. He is a lawyer, she will be a doctor. They desire simple elegance. Their names are Lelia and Cesar. The "target audience", if there is one, will be their friends - individuals similar to themselves in terms of formative years, education, and ambition. Both are from geographies considered "economic bubbles", and both seem to reject the attitudes that prevail in these circles for those more basic, genuine, and down to earth. That doesn't mean we are looking for "plain and simple", but rather "simple, understated elegance". They want sophistication without ostentation or gaudiness.

Color Preferences
Gray (perhaps different saturations or intensities), likely on the warmer side.
Champagne/Gold - this should not be gaudy, bold gold (like reflective or stamped).
Other colors based on designer's suggestion will be considered, though additional color as an accent will be preferred to color as a major design element.
Our Ideas & Additional Information
The springtime wedding festivities will be held at Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island in the US. The facility's website is https://www.newportmansions.org/mansions-and-gardens/rosecliff/, and as a well-estalished wedding venue, photos can be found all over social media. We wish to develop a "wreath-like" wedding logo unlike any "Rosecliff" designs that can be found on social media. This logo may be of any shape, though we are envisioning a circular design. It may be either a closed circle, an open circle (a break in the circle somewhere along the perimeter), or another pattern or shape as approporiate based on designer's vision. We would like to incorporate some element(s) that is pulled from Rosecliff that might create a sense of intrigue, understated granduer, or otherwise communicate the commitment or expectation of marriage. Initials or other name-related aspects should be incorporated, and a visual reference to the union that is created by the marriage. Also of partiular interst in no particular order are the iron lanterns and door guards, the stone carved frieze above the doors and windows, the French doors themselves, and the lion sculpture, though designers should not feel limited to these elements. Additionally, we are open to the idea that an element of the design might be embossed on the items that will display the logo (though printed as appropriate where embossing is not feasible). The items might include the following:
- Save the Date card;
- Welcome Dinner: invitation, dinner menu, seathing card and bar menu;
- Wedding: Save the Date card, Invitation (includes invite, weekend schedule, RSVP card and Newport map);
- Reception: Seating card, dinner menu, bar menu, dessert menu, coffee bar menu
- Brunch: brinch menu and bar menu;
- Miscellaneous: Cloth and paper napkins, hand towels, matchbooks, gift bags and enclosed card, stationery.

For those of you who have already submitted your ideas - you have not read the brief. The name of the contest is LMB Wedding - but the work product is a logo that is designed based on the info provided in the brief. Please read it and submit ideas. I do not want to see either the word "LMB" of the word "Wedding". If I do, it is a clear indication that you have not read the input.

Please do not include the copy "Rosecliff Mansion in Newport" in your design. A visual element from the mansion is sufficient. Perhaps try to utilize the latern as a visual element. FYI, many designers are including the arched doorway, but that device in its entirety is too much and detracts rather than contributes to the overall design. Thank you!

A few notes for guidance after seeing several proposed designs:
- use no background color
- use a serif font where the initials connect in some fashion - I have seen a few executions that are quite interesting
- one of the friezes adjacent to the French doors that has a garland above a circular crest
- or try using a shape other than a circle
- use a shape from the frieze above the French doors - note the garland and how it follows the top part of a crest shape

Some notes to all:

- go to https://privatenewport.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/unnamed-4.jpg. There's a great close-up of the front door. The frieze with the seraphs above the doors might be a great element for design ideas to place above the initials you have created. Additionally, see the ornate iron gates - the ironwork is more appropriate than the generic garlands many have included. Lastly, to the left and right of the frieze above the doos are circular friezes that might make an excellent backdrop to the couple's initials.

Many thanks to all participating in this contest!
