Thanks for the designs so far!

We like where the letter form marks are going in designs #3 and #4. The colour grey in #3 is not quite bold enough. We prefer the fonts in #3 and #4. We like the boldness of #4, however the 'woodcraft' word is not quite clear enough. We are hoping for crisp and polished finish.

We're looking forward to further designs!

Here are some hints for getting the most out of your contest as it progresses:

~~ You, the Client, are very important! Your active participation is the single greatest factor influencing this contest. Active participation by you, the Client, helps you get the logo design you want!
~~ What's active participation? It's updating the brief with more information for Designers to work with as the contest progresses, providing feedback to Designers on their entries when they're submitted, and ranking designs at least once a day.
~~ When you provide feedback to Designers, you increase the chances of getting the logo you want. More feedback = better results!
~~ Leave private feedback by clicking on a design. Feedback will be made public upon contest completion.
~~ Rank designs at least once each day -- this will encourage Designers to submit more entries!
~~ Ranking prevents your contest from going idle! Active contests attract more Designers.
~~ Ranking gets your contest noticed. Unless your contest is Private, 1st place entries are posted to the portfolio page: https://logotournament.com/portfolio
~~ Please note: if you're asking for a design that will require several hours to create, to attract Designers willing to invest that amount of time the prize should be at least $400-$500. All "Character" style logos fall into this category.
~~ Designers are not offended by "Not Interested." We'd like to know what you don't want so we can give you the design you do want.
~~ The first phase of the contest is the "Open" phase, and everyone can submit during that time.
~~ After your contest's initial "Open" phase closes, it will enter the "Top 5" phase; only the top 5 ranked Designers will be able to submit revisions at that time.
~~ The "Top 5" Designers are the first 5 Designers in a contest, not the first 5 designs.
~~ When "Top 5" ends, the "Judging" phase begins. The Designer of the 1st place design will be the only Designer who can submit revisions at that time.

Wow we are really impressed with the quality of designs so far - thanks for your efforts and contributions!

We have endeavored to provide individual responses to each design, however we have struggled to keep up in the past few hours - apologies if we haven't had the chance to respond to your individual design yet. Our local time is 10.30pm, so we will resume with individual responses first thing tomorrow morning.

- At this stage we are liking the designs that include both straight and curved lines, with an emphasis on the masculine eg #3 #19 #20 and #33 are good examples
- We are liking the bold and clear letter form marks. ie #19 #33
- We are liking the maroon and grey, gold and brown, gold and grey, plain grey
- We prefer striking colours over muted colours

We haven't seen many abstract marks at this stage...

- We are hoping for a combination of both straight and curved lines with an emphasis on the masculine.
- We are looking for a crisp and polished finish, a logo that is bold, simple, has depth and is striking.
- We prefer Karem to be emphasized, but would also prefer for Woodcraft to be reasonably bold and obvious, or both words equal is also ok.

Thanks for the recent revisions and new entries into the tournament!

Without a doubt there are some high quality designs being submitted. We are getting closer to what we are looking for... however we are not quite there yet.

At this stage we would love to see some more abstract marks. There have been very few submitted so far.

We appreciate the effort in sharing your creative talents.

I have just received some further feedback from our management team. These are their comments below:

- They are impressed with the overall quality of designs being submitted, but feel there is not yet a logo that fully represents our business
- Would like to see a stronger link to the old world, representing our heritage product range - the feeling here is premium, prestige, regal - a suggested font was Bella Donna. This has a slightly feminine feel to it. However the target audience is predominantly male (trades and professionals), with some females (home renovators). As a reference some creative variations of #69 might work?
--- Perhaps an option here is to have a letter form mark in an older style font (looking regal) with the name 'Karem Woodcraft' written in a simple and bold modern font like what we have been seeing.
- At this stage there is no preference towards abstract or letter form mark, so long as the above criteria of modern and classic feel can be incorporated.

As mentioned from the beginning the main challenge we face is incorporating the old heritage, and new modern feel.

I appreciate there have been a few different directions being requested, however without seeing some options it's difficult to know what's going to work best. The process is also dynamic and evolving, so we are trying our best to provide concise and constructive direction.

TIME TO FLEX YOUR CREATIVITY!!

We have officially reached a bottleneck in the process. While there has been much effort, and many wonderful, high quality designs. We have not found the right design... yet.

At this stage the feedback is that the designs are a bit flat - this may be due to my directions of suggesting the existing colour schemes? We have also been challenged to incorporate the modern and classical feel.

Based on previous private and public comments, and existing designs, you now have an idea of what we are trying to achieve.

FOR THE NEXT 24HRS WE ARE OPEN TO RECEIVING ANY STYLE, COLOUR SCHEME, ABSTRACT MARK, LETTER FORM MARK, OR WORD MARK THAT YOU FEEL APPROPRIATE!!

In summary our current preference is towards:
- abstract mark (ideally with some association with housing). You might surprise us with a unique pictograph but we are not sure...
- we want to see our full business name in bold, with both words equally emphasized.
- we like the fonts as in #193 #325 and the like.
- we like to see on black and white backgrounds
- when on white we want to see bold colours that stand out - but also in keeping with our industry
- we prefer simple but striking designs (not intricate detail)

Thanks for all the amazing entries - we are blown away by the talent and creativity you have showered upon us!

We are about to sign off for the night (local time). We will be reviewing all designs ASAP about 3hrs prior to the close of the competition.

Hi Top 5!

Thanks for your awesome designs so far - I appreciate this has been a challenging and dynamic brief.

At this stage we are working with two possible concepts.
1. Abstract mark - using a very simple mark to illustrate a roof pitch (we are trying to create a connection with the housing market, however at the same time we don't want to give the impression that we 'build' houses - so its a delicate balance. Basically we want something that is simple, bold and striking.
2. Word mark - again we want something very simple. Colour is an option, but black text could be equally appealing. A touch of colour may be required to create the 'lift' we are looking for - however we don't want too much colour as in #703. Simple, bold, classic. (perhaps look around at other timber or hardware brand logos for inspiration.

Also please keep in mind recent public and personal comments.

We will be offline for the next 8hrs or so but look forward to interacting again soon.

Good morning

Due to some issues with designers being able to upload their designs we have requested an extension of the top 5 period by two days.
