Our Ideas & Additional Information
We'd like a mascot tied into the logo itself. Our main character is a regular guy called Joe. He should be an average guy in his mid 20s. For character style, we're looking for a very likable, cartoony character.

Also, we'd prefer a horizontal logo, or at least one that's not too tall. We'd prefer the mascot on the side of the logo, but if you can somehow incorporate him into the logo itself (Lying down on it, under it, etc), feel free to go for it.
Also, while we selected "Character" for the logo style, we also like the "Wordmark" and "Web 2.0" styles. If you can combine one of those with a character tied in to it, that would be ideal.

Just a few quick notes for designers:

Mascot:
While we say to look to Family Guy, Simpsons and Futurama as good reference for the type of character we're looking for, we don't want our mascot to look like he stepped right out of those shows. It can't look TOO similar to them. We just want something a bit softer and cartoony in our mascot, rather than a more realistic one.

Logo:
We're more inclined to go with a Web 2.0-type logo if someone can make it work with a mascot character next to it. Also, the words JOE and SHOPPING have to be similar in size (rather than JOE being huge and SHOPPING being a lot smaller).

Thanks!

As we really haven't gotten anything close to what we're looking for, we've decided to extend the contest another week.

For the LOGO, we'd really like to see a number of more Web 2.0 streamlined type treatments. Besides a mascot, we want the logo itself to be strong and easily readable.

For the mascot, we just want a polished piece of art of a regular average guy in a somewhat cartoony style. (Forget all previous mentions of Futurama, Family Guy, etc.) Thanks!
